Tammy Westney – Food is Foundational
In the sixties, I remember the popular expression, “You are what you eat.” It turns out the origin of this observation dates back to 1826 France and Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin. In his seven volume work, The Physiology of Taste, he wrote, “Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are.” His attribution of diet to mental, emotional, and physical health was as an astute observation then as it is today. How does what we eat and how we eat affect us and can a study of our dietary habits provide ways to restore health, happiness and well-being?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Tammy Westney, says you can achieve better living with the right nutrition. Tammy Westney has a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health. She is the owner of Coffee Owl Nutrition, located in Bucks County Pennsylvania. Coffee Owl provides a blend of science and culinary art with an emphasis on both life cycle nutrition and enhancement of the microbiome. She works as a culinary nutritionist teaching healthy cooking classes on numerous topics. She sees individual clients for a range of health issues from digestive problems and autoimmune disorders to weight loss. She’s also worked as a clinical nutritionist for Meals on Wheels and at the Holistic Healing Center, providing assessments, interventions, and hope to the people she has served. She’s the author of four books including Food is Foundational, A Workbook to Identify Your Nutritional Needs and Food is Foundational, A Nutritionist’s Guide to Seasonal Eating. Her website is http://coffeeowlnutrition.blogspot.com/ and she joins me this week to talk all things nutrition.

Melanie Marquis – Carl Llewellyn Weschcke: Pioneer & Publisher of Body, Mind & Spirit
Having unexplained experiences for most of my childhood, I began to explore and research this in my teens and early adult life. Much of this research was done by acquiring books on metaphysics, alternative spirituality, psychic phenomenon, mystery schools and related topics. The majority of these books were published by a company out of Minnesota called Llewellyn.
What I did not know at the time was that the publisher, Carl Llewellyn Weschcke, was responsible for much of the renaissance of these teachings and their acceptance by a wider audience. Who was Carl Llewellyn Weschcke and how did he birth this metaphysical publishing giant.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Melanie Marquis, knows this story well. Melanie Marquis is the founder of the United Witches global coven and the organizer of Denver Pagans. She has written for Circle, Pentacle, and the American Tarot Association. Melanie’s books, published by Llewellyn, include The Witch’s Bag of Tricks, A Witch’s World of Magick, Beltane, and Lughnasadh. She is the co-creator of the Modern Spellcaster’s Tarot and the coauthor of Witchy Mama. Melanie lives in Denver, Colorado. Her website is www.MelanieMarquis.com and she joins me this evening to discuss her latest book, Carl Llewellyn Weschcke, Pioneer and Publisher of Body, Mind and Spirit.

Prema Lee Gurreri – Your Sacred Wealth Code
What if creating a wealthy life could be as simple as being who you are, and doing what you love? You have a unique internal design for wealth. This formula is encoded in your soul blueprint—and, like your fingerprint, it’s unlike that of any other human being. It’s called your Sacred Wealth Code®, and it is written in the universal language of purpose and prosperity. Your Sacred Wealth Code isn’t an investment guide, a pyramid scheme, or a sales manual. It isn’t even a “follow your passion to success” guide (although passion is an important part of your Wealth Code). Instead, this book is a key to unlock what your soul already knows: what makes you unique in the world, and how you can leverage your purpose, your desire, and your own set of “superpowers” to connect with your personal path to wealth.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Prema Lee Gurreri, uncovered the Sacred Wealth Code and its accompanying body of work while on an internal quest to align with her own purpose and prosperity. Prior to discovering her own Wealth Code, Prema had created a well-known yoga studio and wellness center in Washington State. An acclaimed Vedic Astrologer, spiritual teacher, and coach, she nevertheless struggled to make things work in her business and life. After a harrowing “dark night of the soul,” during which she was called upon to release both her business and her marriage, she decided it was time to find out why, despite so much hard work and sacrifice, she was still so challenged around money and success. Using her insight as a Vedic Astrologer and intuitive, Prema undertook a deep, internal dive, and emerged not only with the knowledge of how to change her own life, but with a universal formula for creating true wealth and success that can be applied by anyone, in any field, at any stage of life. She joins me this week to discuss her book, Your Sacred Wealth Code.

Bob Westney – Cannabis Industry and Cannabis Quality Control (CQC)
Marijuana, pot, weed, reefer; by any name classified as a Schedule I Drug by the DEA. Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. However, the use of medical cannabis and legal extracts such as CBD oil have anecdotally shown success in treatments for seizure disorders, Alzheimer’s Disease, Glaucoma, Crohn’s Disease, the side effects of chemotherapy, PTSD, Multiple Sclerosis, chronic pain and muscle spasms.
Even though the Federal Government has yet to reclassify cannabis, thirty states have legalized its medical use and eight states are allowing recreational use. As demand grows, it is incumbent on the producers and distributors to provide quality control and procedures to ensure the same purity and percentage of active ingredients as are applied to other food and drug products. Is there an organization that is reaching out to the cannabis industry to provide these standards and how may current and potential consumers advocate for these standards?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Bob Westney, has more than 30 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, including Quality Control Microbiology, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. He has also worked for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food contract testing laboratories. He holds a Master of Science degree from Temple University in Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs. He is Regulatory Affairs Certified (RAC), and is a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE). He is a member of the Pharmaceutical Microbiology Forum (PMF), the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS), and a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Bob currently serves as a Senior Consultant for Cannabis Quality Control (CQC), a division of the Microbiology Network. He joins us this evening to discuss the burgeoning cannabis industry and CQC’s role in establishing quality standards and engaging both producers and consumers.

John E. Fetzer - The Quest for the New Age

John E. Fetzer – The Quest for the New Age
My personal life quest and the theme of Destination Unlimited is to find the crossroads of science and spirituality. This is an age old quest going back to the philosopher-scientists of ancient Greece and other civilizations in antiquity. A revisioning of this quest began in the late 19th and early 20th century. The 20th century’s New Age, as it is called, was thought to have been birthed in California and other progressive thinking communities. What most are not aware of is that it actually was the Midwest that was the first cradle of advanced spiritual expansion and that the father of this quest was a successful media mogul and venerated owner of a baseball team.
John E. Fetzer, born in 1901, was a radio pioneer who built a communications empire and was the sole owner of the Detroit Tigers 1961 to 1983. Behind the scenes, he was a seeker who believed that happiness, positivity and peace on earth could be found through a pathway to a higher intelligence. He used his resources to fund this quest, with research studies at Stanford, Duke and Princeton, including the ground breaking research into ESP by J.B. Rhine.
This hidden quest is being revealed for the first time by my guests this evening on Destination Unlimited, Fetzer biographer Brian C. Wilson and Fetzer’s nephew, Bruce Fetzer. Brian C. Wilson is professor of American Religious History in the Department of Comparative Religion at Western Michigan University. He is the author of Dr. John Harvey Kellogg and the Religion of Biologic Living and Yankees in Michigan.
Bruce Fetzer is President, CEO and a trustee of the Fetzer Memorial Trust, a former trustee and treasurer of the John E. Fetzer Institute, a former trustee and member of the Foundation Financial Officers Group chairman of the FFOG compensation survey, and advisor to other nonprofits. They join me this week to discuss the just published book, John E Fetzer and the Quest for the New Age.

Deirdre Hade – The Radiance Tree of Life Journey Meditation
The Tree of Life is a concept and symbol that may be found in almost every ancient culture and faith tradition. In the Jewish tradition, it is called Etz Chaim, literally the Tree of Life. It is the symbol associated with the ancient Jewish tradition of mystical study known as Kabbalah. What may we learn from the Tree of Life and will meditation on its interconnected spheres and pathways enhance our lives and our connection with divine love?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Deirdre Hade, has devoted many years to the study of Kabbalah and its healing and restorative foundations. Deirdre Hade is a mystic, motivational speaker, author, and spiritual teacher to some of the world’s most respected spiritual teachers, including Jack Canfield and Marci Shimoff. Her celebrity clientele include world renowned fashion icon and humanitarian Donna Karan. Dedicated to healing those who have suffered from trauma, pain, and loss, Deirdre founded the non‑profit organization The Foundation for Radiance which has worked closely with the Women’s Prison Association of New York and Nuevo Amanecer (Sister Trinidad Lopez’s program for women rescued from abuse and sexual slavery in East Los Angeles). She designed My Angel Pillow with Kellee White to bring the healing comfort of angels to children in hospitals all across the country.
A keeper of the World Peace Flame and founding member of the Association for Transformational Leaders of Southern California, Deirdre is a member of Jack Canfield’s Transformational Leadership Council, an organization of 150 world leaders in the field of personal transformation (including John Grey and Marianne Williamson). Deirdre’s teachings on the Power of Meditation are featured alongside the writings of other modern-day spiritual luminaries such as Neale Donald Walsch and Don Miguel Ruiz. She has been honored by Dr. Iziz Fuqua and the Circles of Light, receiving the F.L.O.W.E.R. award for her pioneering work in energy healing. She has also been knighted by the Sovereign Order of the Knights Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem for her humanitarian work.
Deirdre’s seminal work on the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life will be recorded with Jack Canfield, the co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, and released to the public for the first time this fall, 2018. She joins me this week to discuss her work and The Radiance Tree of Life Journey Meditation.

Yvonne Tally – Breaking Up with Busy
The Greek Philosopher Socrates wrote, “Beware the barrenness of a busy life.” Considering this was written in the rather less than hectic period around 425 BC, the busy life of today must be totally barren! The word barren, usually applied to land, means unproductive, unfruitful and a place of stunted growth. Is this a true description of your busy life, especially if you are a woman? Are you one of the estimated 55 million women in today’s world who juggle your career, family and relationship, leaving you feeling like that barren land?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Yvonne Tally, knows that feeling well. As a successful career woman, it was Yvonne’s own struggles with life balance that landed her in the ER and ultimately fueled her curiosity to develop methods and techniques to live a more sane and balanced life.
Yvonne Tally has been a healthy lifestyle coach for nearly twenty years. She is a co-founder of Poised Inc., which, among many other things, offers Pilates training to cancer survivors through the Stanford University Cancer Center, and the founder of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Scarves, a charity that provides headscarves to cancer patients. She is the Meditation and De-Stressing Specialist for the city of Palo Alto, California. Her website is YvonneTally.com and she joins me this week to discuss her new book, Breaking Up with Busy — Real-Life Solutions for Overscheduled Women.

Dr. Irene Blinston – Cracking the Angels Code
In virtually every religion, there are references to beings who are charged with protecting, healing and influencing humanity. In the Abrahamic and Zoroastrian religions, these beings are known as angels. By definition, these angels are messengers and in biblical times, brought messages to spiritual leaders and those who would be charged with leading humanity in a more positive direction.
Are angels still communicating with us today? Who are they reaching out to and why? What message do they have that we all need to listen to and really hear?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Dr. Irene Blinston, has experienced contact with angels and received some life changing messages. Irene Blinston earned her Ph.D. in transpersonal psychology. Her interests and expertise include psychic phenomena, consciousness, altered states of consciousness, the survival of consciousness after death, encounter experiences, mystical experiences, and paranormal/supernatural phenomena. Dr. Blinston is also an experiencer, and like so many other experiencers, she kept those events in her life secret. She knows that by disclosing our experiences to others, we risk being called crazy. But, it is this lack of exposure that keeps these aspects of our human potential misunderstood, understudied, and sometimes labeled as pathology. In order to better understand one of her own encounter experiences, Dr. Blinston conducted her doctoral research on the impacts and lifelong aftereffects of religious apparitions experienced in childhood. She joins me this week to discuss her just released book, Cracking the Angels Code – One Woman’s Journey Deciphering Angelic Messages of What is to Come.

Katherine Jegede - Infinite Possibility

Katherine Jegede – Infinite Possibility
There emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries a movement known as “New Thought.” One of the early proponents of New Thought, James Allen, said in his 1903 classic, As a Man Thinketh,
“Mind is the Master power that molds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: —
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass.”
Can our thoughts, our imaginations, transmute and mold our reality in the way that alchemists strived to turn lead into gold? Are there practical teachings and exercises that will show us that imagination is the creative force of all that is?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Katherine Jegede, found the answers to these questions in the “mind as creator” philosophy of Neville Goddard. Katherine Jegede is a British television presenter and author. She has worked with the BBC Science Unit and BBC Radio Oxford and has served as news editor of the international journal, Africa Health. Her work with Africa Health helped to establish a learning resources and study center at one of Nigeria’s leading teaching hospitals. She has been featured in the acclaimed science journal, Nature, and presented two science series for young adults in the UK, earning a BAFTA nomination. She resides in London and joins me this week to discuss her new book, Infinite Possibility: How to Use the Ideas of Neville Goddard to Create the Life You Want.
