Carolyn Elliott – Existential Kink: Unmask Your Shadow and Embrace Your Power
Aired Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
In the 1930’s, pulp fiction detective novels featured a character known as “The Shadow.” These novels were turned into radio dramas in 1937, where the announcer would start each show by saying in an ominous voice, “Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!”
The psychological concept of “the shadow” was formulated by Carl Jung, the founder of analytical psychology. He defined “the shadow” as “the unknown dark side of the personality”.
How does this dark side of our personality unconsciously control us and create negative patterns in our lives? Is it possible that on some level, we actually allow this and derive unconscious pleasure from the results?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Carolyn Elliott, says that by uncovering, understanding and embracing these “guilty” pleasures, we can clear the negative patterns they manifest including poverty consciousness, toxic relationships, creative blocks and much more. Carolyn Elliott earned a doctorate in Critical and Cultural Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She founded the online magazine Witch to give voice to the subtle “witching” in the world that’s not confined to tradition and convention. She’s also the creator of a popular online course and an online business helping people achieve dramatic positive change in their lives through shadow integration practices and applied occult philosophy. Her website is http://carolyngraceelliott.com/ and she joins me this week to discuss her just published book, Existential Kink — Unmask Your Shadow and Embrace Your Power.

Dr. Rita Louise – The Dysfunctional Dance of the Empath and Narcissist
Aired Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
Valentine’s Day is traditionally a day to acknowledge romantic love through the exchange of gifts, cards and celebration. It affords partners the opportunity to reflect on what their relationship means and what they mean to one another. For some, this reflection may show a darker side and one predicated on abuse, emotional pain and toxicity. This is especially true when the partnership mirrors negative relationships of the past; those between sensitive or empathic people and narcissists. It is possible to break the cycle of destructive, negative relationships and find self-worth, self-love and happiness?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Dr. Rita Louise, has explored this very question and has developed a forward-thinking, caring and winning solution. A survivor of childhood abuse, herself, Dr. Rita Louise has emerged as a gifted empath and talented clairvoyant medical intuitive. She is a Naturopathic physician and the founder of the Institute Of Applied Energetics that trains students in the art of medical intuition, intuitive counseling, and energy medicine. She has authored six books and produced several feature-length and short films. Dr. Louise has appeared on radio, television and in movies and has lectured on health and healing, ghosts, intuition, ancient mysteries and the paranormal. Her books and articles have worldwide circulation. Her website is https://soulhealer.com/ and she joins me this week to discuss her brand new book, The Dysfunctional Dance of the Empath and Narcissist—Create Healthy Relationships By Healing Childhood Trauma.

Sarah Mane – Conscious Confidence: Use the Wisdom of Sanskrit to Find Clarity and Success
Aired Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
Regular listeners to Destination Unlimited know of my love for the music of the Moody Blues. In their 1968 release, “In Search of the Lost Chord”, they presented a spiritual and musical journey to find what they called “The Lost Chord”, which turned out to be Om. Graeme Edge’s final lyric said, in part,
“Two notes of the chord is our forescope
But to reach the chord is our life’s hope
And to name the chord is important to some
So they give it a word and the word is Om.”
On first hearing in 1968, Om was familiar to me having heard it chanted by older friends practicing meditation, but I was not aware of its Sanskrit Origin or the deeply profound and meaningful nature of this ancient language. When I began my Yoga practice in the 1980’s, I learned and began to study Sanskrit Chants but my appreciation for the language came through the teachings of Vyaas Houston, founder of the American Sanskrit Institute. I was privileged to attend some of his lectures where he shared that Sanskrit was the “perfect language” and “mother of all languages.”
What can some of the foundational lessons of Sanskrit bring to us in today’s world? Can an understanding of Sanskrit help us to become more conscious and confident in this often worrisome and confusing world?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Sarah Mane, says it can. Sarah’s whole life has centered on studying, practicing and teaching higher consciousness and self-awareness.
In 1971 at the age of ten, she began on her spiritual journey. She was introduced to mantra meditation and other spiritual disciplines and techniques. By thirteen she was studying Sanskrit and in her early twenties she was teaching practical self-awareness, philosophy, meditation and Sanskrit to both children and adults. For decades she continued to deepen her understanding and experience of consciousness, while engaged with the practical world of family and work.
A few years ago, seeing a need in the world, she was inspired to take all she has learned and reformulate it into a simple, enjoyable and practical program of Conscious Confidence. Since then, Sarah has expanded her Conscious Confidence program into a full-length book, and she has coached individual clients and has presented her ideas to group seminars and business owners.
Her website is https://consciousconfidence.com/ and she joins me from Australia to discuss her just published book, Conscious Confidence: Use the Wisdom of Sanskrit to Find Clarity and Success.

“This garden universe vibrates complete
Some may get a sound so sweet
Vibrations reach on up to become light
And then through gamma, out of sight
Between the eyes and ears there lie
The sounds of color and the light of a sigh
And to hear the sun, what a thing to believe
But it’s all around if we could but perceive.”
These were mystical words describing subtle energy and the magick that surrounds each and every one of us. There are some of us who have made this magick their life’s calling. They may be known as Shamans, Healers, Psychics and in the Pagan world, Witches. What is it like to be a Witch? How does one know if they have this calling? Are there communities of like-minded practitioners of these arts for sharing, learning and support?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited is my favorite witch, Melanie Marquis. Melanie is a lifelong practitioner of magick and founder of the United Witches Global Coven and the organizer of Denver Pagans. She has written for Circle, Pentacle, and the American Tarot Association. Melanie’s books include The Witch’s Bag of Tricks, A Witch’s World of Magick, Beltane, and the 2019 ‘Coalition of Visionary Resources Award’ winner for the biography of Carl Llewellyn Weschcke. She is the co-creator of the Modern Spellcaster’s Tarot and the coauthor of Witchy Mama. Melanie lives in Denver, Colorado. Visit her online at http://www.melaniemarquis.com/. She joins me this evening to discuss all things magickal and a very special convention she’s founded and created for all mystical minds coming up this March in the San Francisco Bay area at which I am honored to be a presenter!

Stacie Overman – Angel Kisses: No More Cancer — An Emotional Journey of Love, Loss, Courage and Hope
Aired Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
In January of 1998, I lost my partner Judi after a courageous three year odyssey with cancer. Our relationship was life changing and affirming, with lessons on healing, personal and spiritual growth and a deeper understanding of why people are brought together for these lessons. That relationship opened the way to wonderful and beautiful things that I would come to share with others in the ensuing years. It also brought the synchronicity of meeting other people who shared common experience and how it changed their lives.
A few years ago, I had the synchronistic blessing of meeting Stacie and Larry Overman through a podcast I co-hosted and produced. They became wonderful friends but I did not know their story until Stacie reached out to me last year and asked if I would read and review her new book. When I finished the book, there were tears in my eyes and warmth in my heart; this was the recognition of someone who traveled a path similar to mine and also emerged with new insights and a deeper connection to spirit and the angelic realm.
Stacie Overman worked in the corporate world for many years. She used her God given supernatural gifts of knowledge and discernment to help inspire and motivate her clients. She never understood the profundity of these gifts until a few years after her near death experience while battling cancer and the loss of her soulmate to cancer. It started coming together after she appeared on two seasons of SyFy’s hit TV show, “Ghost Mine”. This is when she began to meet other people like her that helped to explain what she was experiencing was real and she wasn’t crazy. She now coaches beautiful souls to heal from trauma, fear and anxiety so they can understand divine messages and align with their soul’s purpose. It allows them to live a life full of peace, love, joy and experience more miracles here on earth. Her website is https://www.stacieoverman.com/ and she joins me this week to discuss her deeply personal and life affirming book, Angel Kisses: No More Cancer — An Emotional Journey of Love, Loss, Courage and Hope.

Jonathan Cahn – The Oracle: The Jubilean Mysteries Unveiled
Aired Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
As I’ve shared with listeners to Destination Unlimited before, I grew up in a culturally Jewish home during the 1950’s and 60’s. It was a form of Judaism “light” with the festivals and high holy days observed as a time of bringing the family together. My paternal grandfather, who immigrated from Eastern Europe in the late 1800’s, was orthodox and also a bit of a mystic. He would share things with me that did not make sense to my young mind but felt right, including saying that there were more things in the Torah than one could read with regular eyes. It did not dawn on me until my late thirties what he was talking about, but he was referring to hidden messages, information that was there but required “special eyes” to read and comprehend.
Recently, I became aware of the writing and teaching of Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, leader of Beth Israel/The Jerusalem Center in Wayne, New Jersey, and founder of The Hope of the World Ministry. His series of New York Times Best Selling Books including The Harbinger and The Paradigm seemed to reflect what my grandfather was trying to share with me all those years ago. He has addressed Members of Congress and spoken at the United Nations and was named, along with Billy Graham and Keith Greene, as one of the top forty spiritual leaders of the last forty years “who radically changed our world.” He is known as a prophetic voice in this generation and for the opening up of the deep mysteries of God. His ministry can be contacted at HopeoftheWorld.org and Jonathan Cahn Facebook.
He joins me this week to discuss his latest best-selling book and one that has been called a “mind-blowing masterpiece” of revelatory spiritual mysteries that are absolutely real, The Oracle: The Jubilean Mysteries Unveiled.

Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince – When God Had a Wife

I created Destination Unlimited to examine the crossroads of science and spirituality. One of the most fascinating aspects of this is foundational religious history and how we’ve arrived at the tenets that are followed and accepted by mainstream religions today. As a young boy in the 1950’s and 60’s, I grew up with a culturally Jewish background and by rote attended Hebrew School in preparation for Bar Mitzvah. Having both an inquisitive mind and a spiritual bent, I wondered why women were relegated to a secondary and often demeaned role in the Torah, considering most of the wisdom that was offered to me came from school teachers who were women and, of course, my mother. Why were women not afforded the same regard, status and dignity as their male counterparts, not only in religious tradition but in the society that I was growing up in? Furthermore, if creation of life required both man and woman, how could a “masculine” God have created all of us without partnering with a Goddess? Needless to say, I was chastised for asking these questions and really never got those answers until I began my interfaith studies and practice in the 1990’s. What happened to the feminine divine and the ephemeral Goddess? Was there evidence for “God, the Mother?”
My guests this week on Destination Unlimited, Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince, have been diligently researching and writing about this question and many more historical and religious mysteries since partnering in 1989. They are the best-selling authors of The Stargate Conspiracy and the Templar Revelation, which directly inspired Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code. They are frequent speakers at conferences around the world and regularly appear on TV series such as “Forbidden History”, “History’s Ultimate Spies”, “Medieval Murder Mysteries” and “Ancient Aliens”. They reside in the UK and their website is picknettprince.com. They join me this week to discuss their just published and latest book, When God Had a Wife—The Fall and Rise of the Sacred Feminine in the Judeo-Christian Tradition.

Tomàs Garza – Decide: How To Replace Your Fictions with Truth, Go Big in Life, And Transform Audaciously
Aired Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
Synchronicity is a concept, first explained by psychiatrist Carl Jung, which holds that events are “meaningful coincidences” if they occur with no causal relationship, yet seem to be meaningfully related. Causality says nothing can happen without a cause. Here’s an example…You are thinking about an old friend you haven’t seen or spoken with in several years. Your phone rings and to your surprise and delight, it’s the friend you were just thinking about.
Some might say this was a premonition… others might say that your thoughts reached out and motivated your friend to call. Jung would say this was a synchronicity. How may you recognize synchronicity in your life and learn to grow and expand with it.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Tomàs Garza, knows well the importance of all meaningful events in our lives and the beauty of using them for personal growth. Tomàs Garza considers it his mission to step up, teach, and share his experience. He enjoys discussing and writing about spirituality, massive personal transformation, the power of decision and moving beyond our self-imposed limitations. He invites us to always choose Creation over comfort, Love instead of fear. He is the host of the new OmTimes Radio podcast “Decide to Transform”. His website is tomasgarza.com and he joins me this week to discuss synchronicity and his book, Decide: How To Replace Your Fictions with Truth, Go Big in Life, And Transform Audaciously.

Brad Warner – Letters to a Dead Friend About Zen
Aired Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
Many of us have experienced the loss of a friend, perhaps someone we have known since childhood. When our life paths have been divergent and communication of those paths are not shared, we might reflect on a missed opportunity to have exchanged these ideas and insights and perhaps grown through the exchange. What would you do if you wanted to reach out and have a conversation or even write a letter to someone no longer in this life? What would you share and in this sharing, would you find some solace, completion or even a deeper understanding of the path you chose?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, best-selling author and Zen teacher Brad Warner, had this very experience. When word reached him that his childhood friend, Marky, had died of cancer at age 48, Brad thought of all the things he never said to his friend and began writing them down in a series of “letters”.
Brad Warner is the author of It Came from Beyond Zen, Don’t be a Jerk and Hardcore Zen. Brad is a Soto Zen teacher as well as a punk bassist, filmmaker and popular blogger who leads workshops and retreats around the world. In addition to his books, his writing appears in Lion’s Roar, Tricycle, Buddhadharma and Alternative Press. He lives in Los Angeles where he is the founder and lead teacher of Angel City Zen Center. His website is hardcorezen.info and he joins us this evening to discuss his path and his just published book, Letters to a Dead Friend About Zen.

Carolyne Faulkner – Your Signs: An Empowering Astrology Guide for 2020
Aired Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
When I was born, the Sun was in Capricorn, the Moon was in Aquarius and Cancer was rising. Of course, I did not know that and really was not aware of the significance of this until my mid-teens in the late 1960’s. The newspaper horoscopes gave general information and attributes but these really did not resonate with me. When I was about to enter the Air Force in 1973, my mother had a friend of hers, an amateur astrologer, do a chart for me. It did hit home with some of my characteristics and life choices, but some of the projected events made no sense…until they actually unfolded!
What may we learn from the planets to guide us? Is there a new approach to astrology that will enable us not only to know, but to act upon the energy of the planets and better our choices, direction and lives.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Carolyne Faulkner, says there is and she created it in her approach, Dynamic Astrology™. Carolyne Faulkner is the resident astrologer at the Soho House Group in London. She created the concept of Dynamic Astrology™ after 15 years studying with experts from all over the world. Her approach and methods fit within a life coaching and mentoring framework as she uses the movements of the planets to empower others to practice self-reflection and personal-development, helping them in many areas of their lives. Her first book The Signs was published in 2017 to critical acclaim within the genre. Her website is dynamicastrology.com and she joins me this week from London to discuss her just published Harper Design book, YOUR SIGNS: An Empowering Astrology Guide for 2020.
