Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, Ph.D., was raised in an American family in Hollywood, California, and graduated from Stanford University. She was completing her Ph.D. in Psychology when she left America in 1996 to live at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, India. She has been living there for the past 24 years, engaged in spiritual practice and service.

Sadhviji was officially initiated into the order of Sanyas (monastic renunciation) in the year 2000, by her Guru, His Holiness Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, one of India’s most revered spiritual leaders and the President of Parmarth Niketan.

At Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, where Sadhviji lives most of the year, she gives daily spiritual discourses and Satsang, teaches meditation, provides counseling, and oversees a myriad of charitable and humanitarian projects.

Sadhviji leads discourses and question-answer sessions on topics ranging from Indian spirituality to the bridge between science and spirituality to the keys of true happiness and meaning in daily life and teaches meditation to seekers from every corner of the globe. Stewart W. Bench – A Cosmic Encounter: A True Story of an Alien Abduction

Roles People Live – The Perfectionist

This week on It’s Your Ego—Stupid!, Dr. Nick will be looking intensely at people who are living in the role of the Perfectionist. A person who has difficulty coming to terms with the weaknesses and imperfections of their humanity. A person who has difficulty accepting themselves as they are and often engages in perfectionism as a means to hiding their weaknesses from themselves as well as, from others. An approach to life that is often stressful for themselves and others, particularly those they live or work with. This is someone who can be a family member or friend, a co-worker or employer. Unfortunately, this approach only offers temporary, if any relief, because they are working against the inherent imperfect nature of their humanity. While failing to realize that our perfection resides within our Divinity.

During this show, I’ll be drawing upon my book The Two Voices Within to look at the impact of higher ego vulnerability on the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors of those living in the role of Perfectionist. I’ll be looking at the “voice” of ego and the messages the Perfectionist is experiencing and working with due to the mixture of their higher ego vulnerability energy and their mind. Many of them, the Perfectionist is unaware of, but still exerting a powerful impact on their life and unfortunately others. I’ll also be looking at what their ego energy is doing to block the Perfectionist from hearing the voice of spirit which is rooted in their Divinity. An inability to recognize the Love, Life, and Energy—God Is, within their being, due to the great distance being created by their ego energy. When the Perfectionist is able to “hear” the truth contained within each of these voices, the door to transformation can open, and the days of living in the role of Perfectionist can be ended.

His current short, “Kings & Queens,” is about a lesbian down on her luck who finds solace in a local drag community while searching to find her authentic self. “Kings & Queens” has won over 40 awards so far in its festival run.

Entertaining has been his passion since he was a teenager making short films wowing and exciting family and friends.

Elmer got his baptism by fire into the entertainment world by landing his first job and first exposure by being a craft services assistant on the Disney film Flubber with Robin Williams. He was also an extra in the movie. After taking a 12-year detour, Elmer returned to filmmaking in 2010 when he got introduced to Phoenix’s independent filmmaking community, starting his production company Thrive Productions that year as well.

Elmer has a passion and a gift for telling stories through a visual medium and positively impacting his audience by getting them to think and challenging their beliefs while entertaining them, which fuels his passion.
