Louise Evans B.A., M.Ed., C.Ht., R.C.C., has worked as a hypnotherapist/counselor in private practice over 20 years (www.louiserevans.com), with offices in Kitsilano and Metrotown, BC. Louise has Canadian and British dual citizenship and has lived in Canada since 1979. Originally from Scotland she graduated with a BA degree and a Teaching Certificate and on arriving in Canada taught sciences at the secondary level for several years. The human instinct to survive is our most powerful drive! Since the days of animals climbing out of the primordial muck or crawling out of the vast oceans to our early ancestors moving from all fours to walking upright, both evolution, consciousness and awareness have guided humans to improve, reproduce and be led by the greatest instinct of survival. The essential purpose of survival is to increase the chances of survival on a daily basis using and applying survival value so that humans can continue to evolve, grow, transform, and eventually transcend! How we think, what emotions we experience, our behavior in a “dog eat dog” world to our social, platonic and romantic interludes of Life.

L.I.F.E. – Learn It From Experience

Our “fight, flight or freeze” reaction may be our best-known expression of our survival instinct. This response set is triggered when we (and all animals) perceive a situation as a threat to our existence; our sympathetic nervous system activates rapid emotional, psychological, and physical changes. Psychologically, our senses are heightened and we are able to make faster decisions. Physically, we get a shot of adrenaline, our heart rate increases, blood flow is diverted to essential parts of the body, and we experience increased strength and stamina. Without these essential changes, our primitive forbearers would have died off long ago not passing along through the cellular memory and genes of surviving including the ability to survive in modern-day society.

After completing her training as a Yoga Teacher, she began to realize more clearly that her true calling was to assist others in their healing process through self-realization and energy-based techniques. While on a self-transformation retreat in Mexico, she encountered Polarity Therapy.

Kayla’s journey into health began with a traditional career in nursing. Not long after she began working as a nurse Kayla became unfulfilled with the rate of chronic illness, and the lack of the whole body centered care. Kayla’s path into the healing arts began when she first started practicing Yoga. During this time, she became connected with the energetic body and began to learn how the mind, emotions, and spirit affected the physical body. Although she was learning this for the first time, intuitively she felt like she was remembering innate wisdom her body already knew.
