Dr. Danny Penman – The Art of Breathing
It’s something that we do thousands of times a day without thinking about it. We do it from seconds after birth until our final moment of life. It gets faster when we exercise and slower when we rest. We may hold this underwater and for certain medical test. Extraordinary beauty has been said to take this away. This gift of life is our breath and learning to use it mindfully can promote health, stress reduction, a deeper understanding of ourselves and peace.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Dr. Danny Penman, knows well the value of both breathing and mindfulness. Danny is a feature and comment writer for the UK’s Daily Mail and has worked for The Independent and the BBC. He is co-author with Mark Williams of the international best-seller Mindfulness. He joins me this week to discuss his new, beautiful and breathtaking book, The Art of Breathing: The Secret of Living Mindfully.

Metaphysical and Energetic Practices in Personal Growth – Part 1
Time To Clean Up The Garden: Are You Ready?
Spring signals a sign of newness but the garden needs clearing. The protective cover of leaves and old expired memories of days gone by need to be cleared before we can plant new life into our garden.
We all carry emotional wounds. These wounds are the perfect signposts pointing us towards healing. I often used a quote from Richard Bach’s Illusions “Argue your limitations and they’re yours.” (October 1994 Bantam Doubleday Dell)
Working with our wounds has the power to move us towards a higher vibration and enjoy a richer more meaningful life. This week we will talk about ways to let the light in and clear out our inner clutter. You hold the power to transform your outer life through inner work.
Let’s get practical and use this time of change and stand in the sunlight together!

Luminous Life with Dr. Jacob Liberman
The most important things in life are our health and happiness. Yet most of us are neither healthy nor happy. We’ve been led to believe that if we think ahead and make the right choices we can manifest our dreams. Even with our best efforts, we still have more disease and discontent then ever before.
Have ever wondered if our most fundamental ideas about life are flawed? And, if so, then what are we missing?
Join Sylvia and her guest Dr. Jacob Israel Liberman as they explore how the luminous intelligence we call light can effortless guide us toward health, contentment, and a life filled with purpose.
About the Guest: Dr. Jacob Israel Liberman
Born in Cuba to Russian parents, Dr. Jacob Israel Liberman immigrated to the United States as a child in 1955. English was his third language, posing a series of learning difficulties for him as a young man. While attending optometry school, he was introduced to vision training and quickly overcame these challenges, earning a Doctorate in Optometry, a PhD in Vision Science and later an honorary Doctorate of Science.
After opening a successful practice in Miami, Dr. Liberman began experimenting with natural vision improvement. In 1976, the miraculous healing of his own eyesight led him to realize that we do not see with our eyes alone.
Having helped countless individuals recover their eyesight, Dr. Liberman began to understand the words of Jonathan Swift, “Real vision is the ability to see the invisible.” To understand what it truly means to see, we must look deeper than the physical mechanisms of the eye to the underlying source of our seeing. Who – or what – is behind the eye of our vision and the breath of our inspiration?
An internationally respected speaker and pioneer in the fields of light, vision and consciousness, Dr. Jacob Israel Liberman is the author of Light: Medicine of the Future, Take Off Your Glasses and See, and Wisdom From An Empty Mind. Written with his daughter, Gina, and his son, Erik, his newest book, Luminous Life: How the Science of Light Unlocks the Art of Living, shares his scientific and spiritual discoveries about light as the divine spark that guides our life’s journey, entwining us with the unseen architect of all that is.

Living Guilt Free
Guilt – it can clog your life and hold you down. It can make you look back, instead of forward. Where have you been hard on yourself or felt guilty for something you did or didn’t do?
Do you still carry guilt from the past – feeling that way about something you said or did (or didn’t but should have)? Still feeling bad about someone’s reaction or for letting them down?
Perhaps like the ladies of Imperfect Brilliance you grew up in a religion that encouraged guilt, or had a parent who loved to guilt trip you.
How do you overcome guilt to live a life guilt-free? Is it possible? Join Betsy McLoughlin and Kathy Williams for tips and a conversation to clear the guilt out of your life.

Wise Democracy, the Great Upwising and A New “Common Sense”

Wise Democracy, the Great Upwising and A New “Common Sense”
A Conversation With Evolutionary Activist Tom Atlee
“A revolutionary uprising to overthrow the system? Nah, that’s strictly old paradigm. What we really need is an evolutionary upwising to OVERGROW the system.” — Swami Beyondananda
While doing research for Spontaneous Evolution ten years ago, I came across a book that forever changed how I viewed the collective wisdom of we the people. The book was called The Tao of Democracy and it offered example after example of how the collective voice and view of ordinary citizens could provide more helpful and functional solutions than the best-informed experts.
The author of that book, Tom Atlee, has been an “evolutionary activist” for more than 30 years, focusing on the power of collaboration and collective intelligence. In 1996, he founded the Co-Intelligence Institute to aid in the “conscious evolution” of our society, and our species.
His work on “wise democracy” features his coined category of existing forms of “citizen deliberative councils” which he promotes in his books The Tao of Democracy: Using Co-Intelligence to Create a World that Works for All (2003) and Empowering Public Wisdom: A Practical Vision of Citizen-Led Politics (2012).
One of the objections those used to being in power have had against true democracy is their belief that ordinary people don’t have the capacity to consider the bigger picture, and cannot be trusted to govern themselves. The work that Tom Atlee has done over these past many years proves just the opposite — that given the tools for engagement, and the proper guidance for having a respectful conversation for co-creativity, the “wisdom of crowds” is wiser than the wisdom of elites.
If you recognize that it’s time to finally bring forth the missing element in government of, by and for the people — the PEOPLE — please join us for this enlightening and encouraging conversation. You’ll hear stories of how “citizen deliberation councils” have shown how common folks can bring forth uncommon wisdom, you’ll discover new rules of transpartisan engagement that cultivate respect, listening and breakthrough solutions, and discover “wise democracy pattern language” to help us speak and listen more effectively. Says Tom, ” All of this can be viewed as evolution becoming conscious of itself in the transformation of social dynamics that will cause humanity to either go extinct or become a radically better and regenerative form of itself.”
If you prefer evolution to extinction, this conversation will shine the light on the path ahead.

The Planets This Week: March 12, 2018
What do the planets have in store for us this week? We have a New Moon in Pisces on Saturday as well as warrior planet Mars moving into Capricorn.
The Pisces New Moon quiets you down into a contemplative state after a period of revolutionary upheaval. Inequities happen when people divide themselves into categories of ‘us’ and ‘them,’ forgetting that in the end, we are all the same. Conflicts between people, tribes, and nations are victims of such divisive thinking.
This particular new moon helps you to better understand the alliances between people rather than the differences. Consider your personal boundaries and how that has kept you from truly connecting with others on a more meaningful level. How open are you? How in touch are you with your feelings? Can you offer more compassion to make this world a harmonious place to live in? You may begin to realize that there are universal truths among humans no matter what race, status, gender, age, or education level.
Also on Saturday, Mars moves into Capricorn where it will be until May 15th. While Mars is in Capricorn, and depending on how this influence affects your birth chart, you’re driven to succeed. You’ve got the discipline and focus to achieve your ambitions, and you’re not afraid of hard work. Success is a high priority for you now, and you’re willing to do whatever it takes to get to the top. In fact, you might have a tendency to be more calculating than usual, and at worst, people could accuse you of being ruthless. Be sure to consider other people’s feelings in your quest for success, otherwise you could find yourself “lonely at the top.”
Tune in on Monday 6pm PT/9pm ET to find out more…
