Claire B. Willis – Opening to Grief: An Invitation to Turn Towards Emotions
Airing Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM PST / 2:00 PM EST / 6:00 PM GMT / 7:00 PM CET
All of us at some point in our lives, experience loss, yet few of us are comfortable with grieving. It is hard to navigate the waters of loss. How does grief manifest in our lives? How can we integrate grieving while still carrying on with day-to-day commitments? The passage of time may be of some help, but time by itself is not the answer. It is how we “spend” the time. Join Voice Visionary Kara Johnstad and Claire B. Willis, author and clinical social worker for a heartfelt conversation on grief and how we can learn to give it a voice. Co-founder of the Boston nonprofit, Facing Cancer Together Claire is a lay Buddhist chaplain, and yoga/meditation teacher specialized in oncology, therapeutic writing, and bereavement for the last 25 years.
Today she celebrates with us the release of her new book, Opening to Grief: Finding Your Way from Loss to Peace, which she co-authored with Marnie Crawford Samuelson. If our lives are to remain vital, our hearts have to stay open, for our grief is an expression of our love. Join Kara and Claire as we deepen the practice of embracing grief and holding uncertainty.

Aired Monday, November 9, 2020 at 8:00 AM PST / 11:00 AM EST
It grew darker as the light of hope grew dimmer. She wasn’t prepared to be in the dark without a flicker of compassion or a spark of forgiveness. The Wound and she would soon be alone. Even scarier for her was that she would be lost in the abyss with no direction to healing. She would need to start using her heart to help her find the way.
She shouted for help by yelling accusations and blaming others, hoping the Wound would take pity and heal. She tried yelling at the Wound by defending her limitations of not owning her power. She gave one last mighty effort to distance herself from the Wound with stubbornness and denial by demanding answers and resolution.
The wound grew bigger, became more agitated, and held on stronger, needing more attention. But her ways did not work, until she found relief by offering the Wound her attention through the eyes of love.
May compassion be your compass that directs you to your power. May forgiveness be your flashlight to see your own resolution. And may Love be your upliftment above the low frequencies of blame.
Join Noemi Grace and Lisa Berry on another episode of the series Living Beyond Wounds, on Access to Angels and Grace. Today we gain clarity on what to do when we feel lost, when we can’t let go, and when we need resolution to move on. Listen to the uplifting dialogue between Lisa and Noemi. Tune into channeled messages from Source, as Noemi asks the Divine how we can heal, so we may all see the light and walk the path that leads us to healing and joy.

Aired Friday, November 6, 2020 at 4:00 PM PST / 7:00 PM EST
Research with low-dose-Naltrexone (LDN) shows promising results into if and how it reduces symptom severity for some people with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and Crohn’s disease, among other diseases and health disruptions. There is also anecdotal and patient-based evidence that LDN is helpful.
Today’s guest Julia Schopick is the best-selling author of ‘The Power of Honest Medicine,’ which features LDN success stories. In our chat, she shares the history of LDN plus
• How low dose naltrexone works
• How to find medical professionals to assess your specific issues
• What is compounding medication
• How to find out if it might work for you
• Why you should not self-prescribe and more…
About Our Guest:
Julia Schopick is the best-selling author of two books: ‘Honest Medicine: Effective, Time-Tested, Inexpensive Treatments for Life-Threatening Diseases’ (2011) and ‘The Power of Honest Medicine: LDN, an Inexpensive Alternative to the Costly, Toxic Medications Doctors Prescribe for Autoimmune and Other Diseases’ (2018). She wrote her first book because of her advocacy for her late husband, Tim Fisher, a 15-year survivor of a cancerous brain tumor. Sandy Cowen – Hi Momma, It’s Me.
Aired Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
In my two-plus decades as an Interfaith Minister, I’ve officiated both joyous and sad services for family and friends. Offering comfort at funerals is always a challenge because grief is a highly individual process and the greatest comfort comes from sacred presence, empathic listening and offering a few compassionate words, when appropriate. From personal family experience prior to ministry, I learned that when someone loses a child, there simply are no words to comfort the bereaved. The best we can do is to create sacred loving presence in whatever form they request. But is their another form of comfort and reassurance that may be offered from the other side?
My guest this week on Vox Novus, Sandy Cowen, learned through the loss of her adult son, Jon, that transition is not an end but a new beginning. Sandy Cowen has always been dedicated to the empowerment of others as an entrepreneur, community leader and expert on the holistic healing process. Now, an author and speaker, she shares a gift she’s kept hidden for decades. Prompted by her son’s passing, Sandy is coming forward with her story to help others find peace and even joy in the face of profound loss. Her website is https://www.sandycowen.com/ and she joins me this week to share her story and her new book, “Hi Momma, It’s Me.” — How Souls Stay Connected Forever and the Power of Undying Love.

Amoda Maa – Falling Open in a World Falling Apart
Aired Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
In 1970, The Moody Blues released a groundbreaking album entitled, “A Question of Balance.” “Dawning Is the Day” was one of the songs on the album written by lead singer and guitarist, Justin Hayward. The lyric said, in part,
“So rise, let us see you,
Dawning is the day.
Miss, misty meadow,
You will find your way.
Wake up in the morning to yourself,
Open your head and look around you.
Listen, we think we have found you.”
The theme of the album was addressing the seemingly unanswerable questions and finding the answers in the recognition of our humanity, compassion and love. In 2020, the questions seem deeper, much more difficult to answer and almost insurmountable. Is there a way that we may reawaken to who we truly are, find that balance and live with love?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Amoda Maa, says there is a path to awakening and balance. Amoda Maa is a spiritual teacher, a warrior of the heart, sharing a fresh approach to the age-old search for spiritual freedom. Her teaching features timeless truths in ways that are highly relevant and alive to this moment—for contemporary seekers willing to go to the raw edge where spirituality meets humanity. Since 2012, Amoda has been offering meetings and retreats to support and deepen the living of an awakened life. She has been a speaker or guest teacher at a variety of conferences, featured in several magazines, interviewed for numerous broadcasts and podcasts, and has written four books with translations in five languages. She lives in New Mexico. Her website is https://www.amodamaa.com/ and she joins us this week to share her path, her wisdom and her new book, Falling Open in a World Falling Apart.
