We’re talking, of course, about the single most desired and disdained of all human creations… money. More specifically, your money and your money DNA.

Money is not a commodity. It is a relationship. The strongest of taskmasters, money provides opportunities of every sort, teaching us many ways to grow and many ways to fail to grow. Money stimulates and reveals our deepest fears and provides the means for realizing some of our greatest joys. With our tacit agreement and alignment, both individual and societal, money largely determines where and how we live and interact in our world. And when our relationship with money is healthy, it supports us. When it is not, it seems to undermine our lives with a vengeance.

BIO:

Laurie McQuary has been on the Portland and national psychic scene since 1985. When she was eighteen she was in a horseback riding accident. Laurie was in a coma for three weeks and after she awoke her life has never been the same. She began having dreams, like newsreels on black & white film, of violent plane crashes. Shockingly, a few days later she began seeing television newsreels of these same airline disasters actually happening.

Laurie McQuary has been established as a professional psychic and has gained fame for her work in a series of notable cases. The cases range from missing persons to crime investigations. Laurie had a professional office in Lake Oswego since 1985 but is now semi-retired and is living in central Oregon with her retired former police detective husband of thirty-one years.

I first met Laurie in 1999 when she was still in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and I was across the freeway in a school administrator in Beaverton, Oregon. I was astounded by her both Laurie’s accuracy and how detailed she was. Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, Ph.D., was raised in an American family in Hollywood, California, and graduated from Stanford University. Higher Ego Vulnerability and Difficulty Resolving Conflict

This week on It’s Your Ego—Stupid!, Dr. Nick will be looking intensely into the mirror of our ability to resolve the small and large conflicts, arguments, and disagreements that take place in our lives. These conflicts are inevitable because we each possess an individuality that makes us unlike anyone who has ever lived, is living, or will be living. It is this uniqueness in our being, rooted in our having been formed by a unique set of life events, relationships, and experiences, that sets the stage for this inevitable conflict. One of the tasks of life is to reconcile our differences in ways that can lead to growth and learning from conflict rather than the often seen distance and destructiveness that results from conflict. Conflicts that often last far too long, being fueled by the ego energy at work to keep them unresolved. Particularly, those involving our spouse or partner, parents, children, and siblings.

Unfortunately, for those with higher ego vulnerability, conflicts often become personal and attach themselves to the underlying and often unrecognized issues in accepting the weaknesses and imperfections of their humanity. Consequently, conflicts become personalized and often drift from the surface issues that began the conflict to needs of the higher vulnerability person to keep distance from their hidden issues. Great examples of this are when people frequently fight over petty or stupid stuff or engage in inappropriate attacks, when they are “losing” in the conflict taking place. Their higher ego vulnerability energy leads them to engage in more destructive rather than constructive arguments, because the issue precipitating the conflict isn’t the real focus anymore. Roles they may find their way into living, until they awaken to their ego energy, include the High-Maintenance Partner, the Overachiever, and the Perfectionist.

During the show I’ll be looking at symptoms, reflections of ego stupidity, and the impact on spiritual wellness which occurs when a person is being affected by higher ego vulnerability energy in their ability to work through and resolve conflicts. I’ll also be looking at specific ego insights needed to transform higher ego vulnerability into a healthier and more balanced place.

I Remember You

~The incredible feeling of being seen

Isn’t it great when someone recognizes you?

It can be a recognition from the past. It can be a recognition of something you have achieved. It can be a recognition of your value. It can even be the recognition of an old friend. It feels wonderful to be seen.

So why it that?

Well, for starters, we need it. We humans are far more fragile than we would like to believe.

Children need constant recognition and reassurance that they have value. While giving children heaps of praise is criticized in some quarters as spoiling them and making them conceited, exactly the opposite is true.

The child that is praised will eventually internalize that praise and be able to something quite remarkable. They will be able to self-validate. Far from being arrogant, they will have a quiet confidence.

Unfortunately, most of did not get that. We got the more dominant notion of “children should be seen and not heard.” This leads to all sorts of problems with self-esteem, whether that presents itself as self-depreciation or arrogance. Yes, arrogance is a symptom of self-hatred.

There is so much to this subject, including how to heal such wounds as adults. This is what I will be talking about in my next Flow of Enlightenment radio show on Tuesday at 1pm EST with Lisa Berry.
