Sifting Through the Fads and Facts Inside (and Outside) Modern Medicine
From ketogenic diets for cancer, weight loss, and longevity to “vampire” face lifts to O-shots to increase libido, erections, and orgasm in both males and females, there are a lot of exciting and encouraging life-saving and life-enhancing possibilities emerging inside (and outside) the medical arena today.
And, let’s face it, there’s also a lot of headline-grabbing fads that might look good on the surface, but may not be as reliable as touted. So, how do we know the truth? Who can we depend on to sift through the facts and the fads and give us a more reliable heads up on what we might want to put in and on our bodies than the media or drugs companies are prepared to offer us?
Over the years, one person I have always turned to for good, solid, well-researched information and advice is Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Donese Worden, who joins me this week to help us sift through some of the fads and facts that are currently garnering attention. So, if you want to know where much of the information that is currently emerging from both the mainstream and the not so mainstream medical arenas is coming from, how much of it is valid and/or can be trusted, what to believe and what to beware of, or indeed have questions about something you’ve been reading about or considering, join me this week for some answers you can rely on.
*While Dr. Worden cannot offer individual medical advice, If you have any topic, treatment, diet, drug, or innovation or you would like to know a little more about, send an email to sandie.creativemediaservices@gmail.com with a few lines describing your interest and we will consider it for inclusion in our discussion.

The Treasure Hunt: The Physics of Success with Rizwan Virk
How much of success – in life and in business – do we owe to knowledge, expertise, or acumen and how much of it is to do with something less tangible like déjà vu, dreams, paying attention to synchronicities, signs, symbols, and bodily sensations, or even a good old fashioned hunch? Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin empire, is reported to have said that he relies far more on gut instinct than researching huge amounts of statistics. And he’s not alone: numerous entrepreneurs and CEO’s of some of the largest corporations in the world have confessed to relying heavily on their hunches when making critical business decisions.
Best-selling author, Stanford/MIT grad and Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Rizwan Virk firmly believes that there is a science to success and a physics to manifestation. “What’s more,” he says, “we all have a treasure map inside us that not only shows us the work we’re meant to do, but also shows us the path to take to get there.
This week, Rizwan Virk joins Sandie to discuss his new book, Treasure Hunt: Follow Your Inner Clues to Find True Success, which uses quantum physics to explain how hidden messages, in the form of hunches, gut feelings, déjà vu, and dreams can help us with important daily decisions, including those related to business and investments.
And he will share details of how you can take part in a real-life treasure hunt competition which can earn you $20,000 and first class business mentoring from one of the brightest minds in Silicon Valley.
Topics include:
~ The physics of manifestation and success
~ How to identify clues and anti-clues
~ Do “clues” come from our “inner mentor,” our “future selves,” or spiritual guides?
~ Is it possible to tune into different probable futures that may already have been laid out for us
~ Is the mind a time machine and can information travel from the future to the present?
~ How you can turn your life or career into a Treasure Hunt and find true, meaningful success in the business and spiritual worlds
~ And why is he offering $20,000 and first class mentoring to one lucky reader

Relocating God with Diana Butler Bass
The headlines are clear: religion is on the decline in America as many people leave behind traditional religious practices. Diana Butler Bass, leading commentator on religion, politics, and culture, follows up her acclaimed book Christianity After Religion by arguing that what appears to be a decline signals a major transformation in how people understand and experience God. The distant God of conventional religion has given way to a more intimate sense of the sacred that is with us in the world. This shift, from a vertical understanding of God to a God found on the horizons of nature and human community, is at the heart of a spiritual revolution that surrounds us – and that is challenging not only religious institutions but political and social ones as well.
In her book Grounded: Finding God in the World, A Spiritual Revolution, Diana Butler Bass explains how and why faith is no longer a matter of mountain top experience or institutional practice; instead, people are finding new spiritual ground by discovering and embracing God everywhere in the world around us—in the soil, the water, the sky; in our homes and neighborhoods; and in the global commons.
About the Guest: Diana Butler Bass
DIANA BUTLER BASS is the author of nine books on American religion, including Christianity After Religion, Christianity for the Rest of Us, and A People’s History of Christianity. She holds a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Duke University, has taught at the college and graduate level, and is currently an independent scholar. She was a columnist for the New York Times Syndicate, and blogs for the Huffington Post and the Washington Post on issues of religion, spirituality, and culture. Bass is a popular speaker at conferences, colleges and universities, and churches across North America. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband, daughter, and dog.

Horsemen of The Apocalypse - Global Warming, & The Energy Moguls who are Putting Profits Before the Truth with Dick Russell
The science is overwhelming; the facts are in. The planet is heating up at an alarming rate and the results are everywhere to be seen. Yet, as time runs out, climate progress is blocked by the men who are profiting from the burning of the planet: energy moguls like the Koch brothers and Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson. Powerful politicians like Senators Mitch McConnell and Jim Inhofe, who receive massive contributions from the oil and coal industries. Most of these men are too intelligent to truly believe that climate change is not a growing crisis. And yet they have put their profits and careers ahead of the health and welfare of the world’s population—and even their own children and grandchildren. How do they explain themselves to their offspring, to the next generations that must deal with the environmental havoc that these men have wreaked? This week, Dick Russell, author of Horsemen of the Apocalypse: The Men Who Are Destroying Life on Earth – and What It Means for our Children joins Sandie to discuss:
~ The complex sordid web of lies and cover-ups of fossil fuel corporations and their henchmen
~ How the misuse of wealth and power is undermining democracy, threatening the health of the planet, and neglecting our moral responsibility to future generations.”
~ The rebellious descendants of the fossil fuel families who are trying to make a difference toward a more sustainable world
~ The alternative energy sources that are now more than cost competitive with fossil fuels
About the Guest: Dick Russell
Dick Russell is an environmental journalist and author of thirteen books on subjects ranging from natural history to the assassination of President Kennedy. His latest book, Horsemen of the Apocalypse: The Men Who Are Destroying Life on Earth – And What It Means to Our Children, written before Trump came to power, and which is edited and introduced by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Russell, Russell reveals the sordid truth about the energy moguls most responsible for the climate disaster our civilization is facing.
Russell’s book, The Man Who Knew Too Much, about a conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy, was hailed as “a masterpiece of historical reconstruction” by Publisher’s Weekly. An environmental activist and lecturer who has been a guest on many national TV and radio programs, Russell writes a regular blog on the Trump administration and the environment. His early years of traveling across Europe and Africa are the subject of a 2017 documentary, “Hitchhiking to the Edge of Sanity,” which premiered in April at the Kansas City Film Festival.
