The Planets This Month: October 2018
October this year is a time for reflection and repair for most signs. Powerful energies bring forceful opinions and actions to the fore, prompting each of us to figure out how to protect ourselves from such aggression.
Interpersonal relationships are in the spotlight, especially once Venus turns retrograde in Scorpio on October 5th. This is a chance to rekindle old relationships, if desired, or to finally address, confront and heal the issues remaining from previous toxic encounters.
Here’s what each sign can expect this month: Aries relationships and intimacy are your key focus this October. Taurus: there are indications that this month you’re not harnessing your ideas in as practical a manner as normal. Gemini: your confidence levels are high this October, which is good to see. Cancer: adopting a can-do approach will see you safely through October’s variable influences. Leo: success this October is all about getting your message across: being clear in what you want to say and saying it well. Virgo: managing your resources properly – both time and money – is essential as October gets underway. Libra: this month is all about recognising your inherent talents and abilities – and making the most of them! Scorpio: the difficult Mercury-Pluto square on October 2nd prompts some soul searching over how you work with your soul group. Sagittarius: being expected or required to fit in causes you some angst this October, as you would much prefer to go your own way and do your own thing. Capricorn: get set for a hard-working October which should see lots of progress being made towards your professional and personal goals. Aquarius: October looks set to be a very educational month for you, Aquarius. Pisces: October brings mixed fortunes for your sign, Pisces.
Tune in on Monday 6pm PT/9pm Et to find out more…

Animal Communication and Energy Healing with Joan Ranquet
Many of us are learning more about the world around us by living with animals as family members—by creating multi-species families. How do we deepen our bond with our animal families? Everything You Wanted To Know (But Didn’T Know Who To Ask) About Sex, Chemistry, Age, And Hormones
When it comes to sex, it’s probably true to say that the over 40s and 50s are far less inclined to talk about it than when they were first embarking out on that adventure. And yet, sex is a subject that is more likely to pose problems, and therefore requires more advice, as we age. From painful sex and erectile dysfunction to loss of interest or diminishing sensation, many issues can upset the delicate balance of factors involved in sexual desire and pleasure. This week Sandie and Dr. Donese Worden engage in a frank and fearless discussion about sex, chemistry, age, and hormones.
Topics will include:
* Chemistry, attraction, and libido – what really happens to men and women as we age
* Physical or mental? Which plays the bigger role in pleasure?
* Hormones: estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and more – why it’s essential to get the balance right
* Orgasms – Big ones, small ones, failed ones, and those that occur with no external stimulation at all
* Getting it up and getting it on – natural aphrodisiacs, aids, and toys
* The unvarnished truth about why sex should be considered more important, not less, in maintaining our health and wellbeing as we age
* Dr. Worden’s Rx to turning up the heat… and more…

Tammy Westney – Food is Foundational
In the sixties, I remember the popular expression, “You are what you eat.” It turns out the origin of this observation dates back to 1826 France and Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin. In his seven volume work, The Physiology of Taste, he wrote, “Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are.” His attribution of diet to mental, emotional, and physical health was as an astute observation then as it is today. How does what we eat and how we eat affect us and can a study of our dietary habits provide ways to restore health, happiness and well-being?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Tammy Westney, says you can achieve better living with the right nutrition. Tammy Westney has a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health. She is the owner of Coffee Owl Nutrition, located in Bucks County Pennsylvania. Coffee Owl provides a blend of science and culinary art with an emphasis on both life cycle nutrition and enhancement of the microbiome. She works as a culinary nutritionist teaching healthy cooking classes on numerous topics. She sees individual clients for a range of health issues from digestive problems and autoimmune disorders to weight loss. She’s also worked as a clinical nutritionist for Meals on Wheels and at the Holistic Healing Center, providing assessments, interventions, and hope to the people she has served. She’s the author of four books including Food is Foundational, A Workbook to Identify Your Nutritional Needs and Food is Foundational, A Nutritionist’s Guide to Seasonal Eating. Her website is http://coffeeowlnutrition.blogspot.com/ and she joins me this week to talk all things nutrition.
