Eating Hangups and Judgment About Food
From the time we are young children, we are given messages that certain foods are good for us, other foods aren’t. We’re told to clean our plate in order to get the treat we would really like to have, or that children in China are starving to coerce us to eat food that we’re not even hungry for. As we go on in life, we receive even more messages from books, media, and our surroundings. Let’s explore and let go of hangups and judgment around food and eating.
If you’d like have more clearings, tools and facilitation around food and to avoid holiday weight gain, join Kathy for “Waste it or Waist it – Avoiding Year End Weight Gain.”

The Eisenhower Moment – Part II
An Interview with Simon Anholt, Founder of “Good Country”
“It’s time to evolve from children of God to adults of Good.” — Swami Beyondananda
Nearly 60 years ago, U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it.”
I’ve been calling the times at hand “the Eisenhower moment” because we the people finally have the technological capability to communicate instantly and speak in one voice.
Last week we spoke with Australian visionary activist Andrew Gaines about what he calls the Great Transition Initiative – a citizen led educational “movement of movements” to inspire mainstream commitment to transitioning to a life-affirming culture.
A worthy intention, and a great beginning…
And, the next question is, how will this intention be manifested, populated, and turned into a tangible movement for transformation?
My guest this week, Simon Anholt, introduces a new worldwide platform called Good Country which has the ambitious intention of creating and populating the world’s next super-power — the awakening population of the world acting in one accord as one “virtual country”.
Simon Anholt is an independent policy advisor based in the UK who has worked to help develop and implement strategies for enhanced economic, political and cultural engagement with many countries around the world. His TED talk on the “Good Country Index” has 5.5 million views, and as he will tell you has led to this exciting new platform.
After receiving some 20,000 emails from around the world from people who identified with a “good” country — i.e., one who collaborates to bring goodness to the world — Simon and his colleague Madeline Hung set about to find out how many other people around the world felt the same way. After two years of research they determined about 10% of the world’s population — some 700 million people — shared this global view. While 10% might seem like a modest figure, a country with a population of 700 million would be the third most populous country in the world, behind China and India and ahead of the U.S.
That’s when the idea emerged … why don’t we start a “virtual country”? As their website overview says: “We’re starting a new country. A country defined not by borders but by values. A country made up of hundreds of millions of people around the world, all motivated by a shared desire to make the world work better. A country with the power to bring about real change in the international community.”
Can a new virtual country with millions of awakened citizens actually spark collaboration among nations? How is this potentially world-changing institution being created, and how can you become a part of it?

The Planets This Week: December 3, 2018
Overall, December is a fairly quiet month and this week is perhaps the busiest. We have Mercury retrograding back into Scorpio, Venus moving back into Scorpio, a New Moon in Sagittarius and Mercury finally turning direct after being retrograde since November 16th.
The retrograde Mercury in Scorpio is a powerful influence that can throw your reasoning ability right out the door. Although your perceptions may be quite keen, the words that stream from your mouth indicate a less than rational mind. If you’re in a partnership, this could be an excellent time to deepen your bond and strengthen your sense of trust. But you may need to work through some of the shadow sides of Scorpio to get there — jealousy, abandonment and betrayal. The more you’re willing to expose yourself by sharing your deepest thoughts and feelings, the better your chances for regenerating your relationship and transforming old patterns.
While Venus is in Scorpio and depending on how this transit affects your natal chart, you may find yourself longing for deep intimacy and intense passion. You don’t have much patience for superficial connections or casual dating, preferring to relate to a few close friends and one significant other. When you get involved, you want to give all of yourself and reveal the very core of your being.
The Sagittarius New Moon awakens an inner need for many kinds of stimulation. Having recently completed a contemplative period, your body craves for some excitement now. You may find yourself daydreaming about travel to foreign lands, or maybe tackling a philosophical conundrum. Boredom is an issue that has your fingers tapping restlessly. What are you to do about it?
Tune in on Monday 6pm PT/9pm ET to find out more…

Spiritual Activism, Science, and Spirituality with Author Steven Taylor
In his book, Spiritual Science, scientist Steven Taylor offers a way of looking at the world that unites modern science and ancient spiritual teachings, plus the insights of philosophers, physicists, and mystics. Charging that modern science has become a limiting belief system that excludes phenomena it cannot explain, Taylor discusses phenomena that are real but science devalues, including consciousness, telepathy, and precognition. He offers a perspective that sees consciousness as a fundamental feature of the universe, and how that can change not just our view of the world, but how we live in it. Call in to chat or ask a question.
