With Bernie Sanders surging into the lead as we come to Super Tuesday, the “stop Bernie” forces on the moderate side insist that Bernie can’t win in November. But, what if he is the ONLY candidate who can truly overwhelm Trump?

Can his movement of young people inspired to vote counterbalance those “moderate Republicans” who might switch from Trump to either a Biden or a Bloomberg?

Weighing in on this issue on Wiki Politiki Radio is scholar and Middle East scholar Stephen Zunes, who recently wrote a piece for Truthout debunking the idea that a progressive candidate cannot win the general election. Zunes, who as a teenager worked for the George McGovern campaign, insists the comparison between McGovern, who lost in a landslide, and Sanders holds no water.

Dr. Stephen Zunes is a Professor of Politics and International Studies at the University of San Francisco, where he serves as coordinator of the program in Middle Eastern Studies. Recognized as one the country’s leading scholars of U.S. Middle East policy and of strategic nonviolent action, Professor Zunes serves as a senior policy analyst for Foreign Policy in Focus project of the Institute for Policy Studies, an associate editor of Peace Review, and a contributing editor of Tikkun.

The Beginning of Something: Seasons in Our Lives

Do you fear change? Be honest. Most of us do. At least on some level, the idea of re-inventing yourself is terrifying. While we follow adventurous people on social media and dream of one day picking up and radically changing our circumstances, the reality is that most of us stay put. Fear keeps us right where we are—even if right where we are is dreary and unhappy.

Last week on the show we took a look at a traveling season, namely my adventures over the past two-and-a-half years with my wife Cindy while living in the Mexican state of Yucatán. This season has now drawn to a close, and a new chapter begins.

With the beginning of a new chapter come many of the same questions that arise during the ending of a season in our lives. What is this going to look like? How long will this last? What are the lessons to be learned? Also, if we’re honest, we ask ourselves whether we will enjoy this new time, whether it will be fun and prosperous, even if we’re doing the right thing by launching into this adventure in the first place.

Join me as I broadcast live from the site of our new adventure, namely our home in Phoenix, Arizona. We will discuss an adventurous, curious attitude, which is what I encourage people to cultivate. We will cover topics such as taking calculated risks, having fun, and most importantly trusting your instinct and intuition, which will always guide you. In the short term, you may have things to release and lessons to learn—so your gut may not lead you straightaway into bliss—but it will always lead you to what you need to learn, the people you need to learn it from, and the place in which you are to learn it. In short, you always get exactly what you need.

Remembering Stuart Wilde with Ryan McCormick

The late metaphysical visionary and author Stuart Wilde, who was a frequent contributor to the alternative media and an outspoken freedom advocate, will likely always be considered historically relevant.

Over a career spanning more than 40 years, he wrote several books and articles about personal freedom, and how anyone could attain it without ever engaging in a physical confrontation with another human being. His simple how-to books “Weight Loss For The Mind” and “Affirmations,” which showed people how to shatter their OWN self-imposed tyrannical chains, sold millions of copies and were translated into 27 languages.

He also wrote actively wrote about the forces of control and fascism, why they were getting stronger, and what their undoing would actually be. He discussed that some human beings chose to have a physical life incarnation in these historical times for exact evolutionary purpose of experiencing oppression and fascism.

Wilde had a simple methodology for seeing what was coming and he actually trained several individuals how to do it (you can learn it too). He also taught individuals how to perceive and experience other dimensions, and wrote extensively on the metaphysical science of this as well as astral projection.

Ryan McCormick was Stuart Wilde’s last publicist. Ryan joins Sandie this week to share his memories of a man who many regarded as a “guru,” but in reality, was anything but. For while he was known as a “teacher’s teacher,” (Deepak Chopra and Dr. Wayne Dyer were just two of the many individuals that Stuart Wilde mentored), Stuart Wilde’s humbleness was legendary. He never wanted to talk about his accomplishments on air. He didn’t seek out followers or praise. He never claimed to “know the way.” And he never passed up an opportunity to make fun of himself, to point out the comical absurdities in daily life, or to provoke waves of laughter with his punchlines often ending with the word “fuck.”

Ryan McCormick is a metaphysical, spiritual, and philosophical investigative journalist. Born and raised on in Long Island New York, Ryan knew at an early age that he was a fringe dweller and thought differently than “normal people.” In his late 20’s Ryan began reading books about spirituality, metaphysics, and critical thinking. A publicist and producer of radio and tv programs, Stuart Wilde was not only the teacher with whom Ryan resonated the deepest, he also chose Ryan to become his last publicist.
