Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, Ph.D., was raised in an American family in Hollywood, California, and graduated from Stanford University. She was completing her Ph.D. in Psychology when she left America in 1996 to live at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, India. She has been living there for the past 24 years, engaged in spiritual practice and service.

Sadhviji was officially initiated into the order of Sanyas (monastic renunciation) in the year 2000, by her Guru, His Holiness Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, one of India’s most revered spiritual leaders and the President of Parmarth Niketan.

At Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, where Sadhviji lives most of the year, she gives daily spiritual discourses and Satsang, teaches meditation, provides counseling, and oversees a myriad of charitable and humanitarian projects.

Sadhviji leads discourses and question-answer sessions on topics ranging from Indian spirituality to the bridge between science and spirituality to the keys of true happiness and meaning in daily life and teaches meditation to seekers from every corner of the globe. Amoda Maa – Falling Open in a World Falling Apart

In 1970, The Moody Blues released a groundbreaking album entitled, “A Question of Balance.” “Dawning Is the Day” was one of the songs on the album written by lead singer and guitarist, Justin Hayward. The lyric said, in part,

“So rise, let us see you,
Dawning is the day.
Miss, misty meadow,
You will find your way.
Wake up in the morning to yourself,
Open your head and look around you.
Listen, we think we have found you.”

The theme of the album was addressing the seemingly unanswerable questions and finding the answers in the recognition of our humanity, compassion and love. In 2020, the questions seem deeper, much more difficult to answer and almost insurmountable. Is there a way that we may reawaken to who we truly are, find that balance and live with love?

My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Amoda Maa, says there is a path to awakening and balance. Amoda Maa is a spiritual teacher, a warrior of the heart, sharing a fresh approach to the age-old search for spiritual freedom. Higher Ego Flexibility and Difficulty Growing the Quality of Your Mind

This week on “It’s Your Ego—Stupid!”, Dr. Nick will be looking intensely into the mirror of growing our mind with truth and how higher ego flexibility can get in the way of this happening. We must each make a concerted effort to learn what we need to learn and unlearn the faulty truths, beliefs, attitudes, and values we may have acquired along the path of our lives. Something our brain helps us to do, but for which we must take ultimate responsibility. Otherwise, we run the risk of acquiring lots of inaccurate, distorted, and even disturbed ideas, beliefs, values, and prejudices, that we often have no clue is taking place. Such is the insidious process of unhealthy, imbalanced ego energy that can be at work in our lives.

Unfortunately, for those with higher ego flexibility they often take an extremely flexible approach to the growth of their mind. An approach that places them at risk of “learning” a lot of faulty beliefs, values, and attitudes. They are naïve and gullible while having difficulty questioning the ideas and beliefs of those who are trying to influence them. Often, failing to recognize the secondary, hidden agendas and motives going on behind the scenes. Roles they often come to live in are the Cultist, the Adult Child, the Loyalist, and the Puppet. The growth of their mind is being undermined by often listening to the wrong people, about the wrong things, at the wrong times. During the show, I’ll be looking at symptoms, reflections of ego stupidity, and the impact on spiritual wellness which occurs when caught up in this energy. I’ll also be looking at specific insights needed to transform higher ego flexibility into a healthier and more balanced place.

5G stands for “fifth generation cellular technology” which promises to deliver data rates that are 10 to 100 times faster than current 4G. Not only does this mean much faster download rates, but 5G will also enable new technologies like self-driving cars and augmented reality. Mobile devices will be able to send and receive information in less than one-thousandth of a second, appearing instantaneous to the user.

Wow. Faster internet, faster downloads on our smart phones … Fast, fast, fast. Well… not so fast, say some concerned citizens and scientists. As with cell phones, the radiation from this 5G technology is being linked to higher cancer rates. The cell phone providers and mainstream media insist all is safe, and there is no problem. Are they correct? Or is this just another issue where those with much to gain are railroading an untested technology?

Our guest this week, Arthur Firstenberg, is here to help clear the air. Arthur Firstenberg is a scientist and journalist who has been at the forefront of a global movement to have a transparent conversation around the apparent trance of 5G technology. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Cornell University with a degree in mathematics, he attended the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine from 1978 to 1982. Injury by X-ray overdose cut short his medical career. For the past thirty-eight years he has been a researcher, consultant, and lecturer on the health and environmental effects of electromagnetic radiation, as well as a practitioner of several healing arts.

He is the founder of the independent campaign group the Cellular Phone Task Force, and has authored two books, Microwaving Our Planet: The Environmental Impact of the Wireless Revolution and The Invisible Rainbow: A History of Electricity and Life.
