Ousted! The underworld is now exposed, and while the word “ousted” is suddenly ubiquitous, we can’t apply it solely to those that are being identified as abusers. For in truth, “ousted” is a word that applies to all of us. Everything that’s been buried – all the perceived dirt, lies, guilt, shame, and wounds are being laid bare, and as uncomfortable as it may be, exposure and acknowledgement are crucial to healing and integrating our pain.

With astonishing rapidity, the wave of recent Hollywood harassment stories turned into a tsunami of revelations of decades-long abuses of power in virtually every area of life we engage in. It’s an old, old story – people in powerful positions abusing their power. Only this time, for the first time, society, en masse, is listening. Why? One reason is that, thanks to the Internet, those that have been abused now have access to a platform that cannot be controlled; once word is out, it’s everywhere. According to this week’s guest, another reason is that, finally, the collective consciousness is ready to face the painful conversations we’ve long been avoiding.

None of us is without secrets. We all have hidden hurts and wounds. But a wonderful opportunity is now opening before us. This week, visionary speaker, author and multidimensional seer, Suzy Miller joins Sandie for a no-holds barred dialog that will cover such topics as:

Paul Avgerinos - Home: Where Everyone is Welcome

In 1883, Emma Lazarus wrote the sonnet, “The New Colossus.” Her precious words are inscribed on a bronze plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty. The words read,

“Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

For many generations of Americans, these words were also inscribed in their hearts; recognizing that other than the indigenous people of this fair land, we are all the descendants of immigrants.

Yet recently, there seems to be a memory lapse…a forgetting of how immigrants built this country with their sweat, toil, tears, blood and dreams and a rejection, based upon fear and ignorance, of the value of those who would come and join us in this purely American adventure. What can we do to restore the memories, eradicate the fear and inform those who have been misled about the seeds of greatness from foreign lands that blossomed and continue to flourish in this country.

My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Paul Avgerinos, along Deepak Chopra and Kabir Sehgal, have collaborated on a beautiful collection of poems and songs inspired by American Immigrants called, “Home: Where Everyone is Welcome.”

Paul is a first generation American, whose father Costas emigrated from Greece to the U.S. in 1938. Paul is a Grammy wining artist, composer, producer and engineer with 23 critically acclaimed New Age Albums to his credit. He is active in creating scores for a variety of television shows. He is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and runs Studio Unicorn.

Kabir Sehgal is also a first generation American and his parents are both from India. He is a New York Times and Wallstreet Journal Best Selling Author of eight books such as Coined and Jazzocracy. He ia a multi-Grammy and Latin Grammy Award Winning producer. He is a US Navy Veteran and works in Corporate Strategy at First Data Corporation in New York City.

Deepak Chopra needs little introduction. He was an immigrant from India who moved to the U.S. in 1970 and became a citizen in 1984. He is a world renowned pioneer in inte-grative medicine, founder of the Chopra Center, author, lecturer and music composer. Time Magazine labelled him one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the century.

The Planets this Week: November 5 - 11, 2017

What do the planets have in store this week? The astro headlines of the week are Mercury moving into Sagittarius until January 10th and love planet Venus moving into Scorpio until December 1st. There’s also a fortuitous trine between Saturn and Uranus.

Mercury in Sagittarius is extra lengthy this time as Mercury will be turning retrograde in Sagittarius on December 2nd. During this time, you could find yourself broadening your worldview and exploring a variety of subjects. There’s an urge to expose yourself to new ideas and perspectives, especially of a philosophical nature. You ask yourself life’s big questions, wondering, What does it all mean?

Nitpicky details, facts and figures are less interesting now, and you make decisions based on intuitive knowing rather than logical analysis. This is an excellent time to focus on your ideal vision for the future, though not so favorable for figuring out the steps it will take to get there. Planning and practicality can come later. Optimistic thinking and faith in positive outcomes characterize this transit.

Also, love planet Venus is moving into sexy Scorpio on Tuesday where it will be until December 1st. While Venus is in Scorpio, and depending on how this transit affects your natal chart, you may find yourself longing for deep intimacy and intense passion. You don’t have much patience for superficial connections or casual dating, preferring to relate to a few close friends and one significant other.

When you get involved, you want to give all of yourself and reveal the very core of your being. However, because of your intensity of your feelings at this time, you might be afraid of scaring people away, and could have a tendency to hold back or conceal your emotions.
