The Planets This Week: April 23, 2018
What do the planets have in store for us this week? Love planet Venus moves into Gemini so many of us may be extremely sociable and form a wide variety of friends. The important thing at this time is to keep your connections alive and flourishing. With this transit, many of us may discover a love of learning and could be curious to find out about many different subjects; in fact, no one will be able to keep us from learning about something that interests us! In romance, we may find ourselves to be quite playful and flirtatious.
If you’re single, dating several people at the same time will not be unusual for you. At this time, we must be extremely careful with our declarations of love, because although we could feel extremely ‘in love’ in the moment, we may not feel that way at all when we wake up the next day.
Also this week, transformational Pluto turns retrograde until September 30th. Pluto is all about personal growth. Remember, you can’t grow all the time without pausing occasionally to absorb and integrate the lessons you’ve been learning. Pluto Retrograde periods are perfect for this. Personal evolution is a two-steps-forward, one-step-back process, and the pace is determined by the direct and retrograde motion of Pluto.
Occasionally the Pluto retrograde period is characterized by painful loss, or events and circumstances in your life that are far beyond your control. In many ways, Pluto represents factors that are much larger than any individual; it is the planet of human evolution. But for most of us, most of the time, Pluto retrograde periods offer us the chance to delve deeply into our own inner resources and determine what is most important, when all is said and done.

Meditation and… Broccoli?
Would you like to hear some deep insight and advice from a Doctor on how to increase your good health, lose weight and live a more conscious, fulfilling life by blending plant-based eating and Buddhist psychology??
When you change your eating, it’s not just your eating that will change,” says
Cassandra Ohlsen, MD, author of the recently released book, Enlightened Eating: The Eightfold Path to Health.
Nutrition science is confusing and the hefty advertising budgets of the food industry can derail people. The incredible number and range of studies and science about food and diet is sometimes contradictory. People eat for countless reasons, including stress relief, to relieve fatigue, to comfort themselves, to accompany the alcohol they drink, to please others, to be included in family gatherings and social situations, to celebrate their heritage…seldom is it simply for health.
On today’s show though Dr. Ohlsen offers a guide that is all about navigating this path and you don’t have to be a Buddhist to receive the benefits of their principles.

The “Way Of The Horse” – A Revolutionary Model For Socially Intelligent Leadership with Linda Kohanov
Power and leadership are two words that are inextricably entwined. We are all leaders at some time in some area of our lives. But to be an effective leader, one has to know how to use power effectively. In this increasingly complex world, where anyone from any background can instantly access information and resources to empower and advance their position in life, and anyone with a great idea can raise money online and conceive a multi-million-dollar corporation in the corner of a basement or a garage, command and control forms of leadership are on their way to becoming obsolete but learning to share power in a balanced way is still one of our greatest human challenges.
Linda Kohanov is an international speaker, leadership trainer, and the bestselling author of The Tao of Equus. In her new book, The Five Roles of a Master Herder, she offers a new approach to leadership, rooted in the collaborative power of ancient herding cultures and based on her decades of equestrian work. For thousands of years, master herders have developed a multi-faceted, socially intelligent form of leadership that combines five disparate roles with unique qualities of leadership. Effective leadership, asserts Kohanov, comes from a holistic balance all five of these roles. The Five Roles of a Master Herder shows readers how to develop and employ them consciously and fluidly in their “modern tribes” of families, workplaces, and other social organizations.
Linda Kohanov joins Sandie this week to discuss:
~ What can equine-based wisdom and the nonverbal leadership skills of ancient herding cultures teach us about leadership in the 21st century?
~ Why is “power” is such a difficult topic to discuss in our culture when it plays such a huge role in just about every kind of group of people?
~ How we can recognize which of the five leadership roles we may be overemphasizing and which roles we’re avoiding.
~ How the five roles of a master herder can lead us through potentially “explosive” situations at home, and in life.
~ Non-predatory power and how we can use it in our daily lives?
~ And more…
Linda Kohanov established Eponaquest Worldwide to explore the healing potential of working with horses and offer programs on everything from emotional and social intelligence, leadership, stress reduction, and parenting to consensus building and mindfulness. She has used this revolutionary new model with executive teams at such companies as Nike, Chubb Insurance, and Raytheon.

The Dr. Kevin Show – Tom Paladino
Tom is a scalar energy researcher. Tom Paladino’s research and work with the scalar energy began with his introduction to Nikola Tesla, the founding father of scalar energy. With this knowledge, Tom became convinced that scalar energy is a dimension not of the electromagnetic spectrum. Subsequently, he pursued a course of independent study in order to better understand and eventually harness scalar energy by way of scalar energy instruments. Scalar energy is also known as prana, chi, radiant energy, zero point energy or pyramid energy. After years of experimentation and modification, Tom Paladino has developed a technique using scalar energy that will transmute pathogens quickly and painlessly. This technique facilitates the use of photographs of people who desire to have pathogens transmuted or eradicated in their bodies. Hence, Tom has developed a treatment process whereby people are treated remotely by way of their photograph.
Scalar energy operates at the quantum level and is capable of disassembling pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoan, and prions, thus eradicating the causative agent of disease. It is Tom’s belief that scalar energy will soon be embraced as the cure for pathogenic disease.

Diana Butler Bass – Grateful: The Transformative Power of Giving Thanks
As a boy growing up in the fifties and sixties, my family stressed the importance of gratitude. My siblings and I were taught to be truly grateful for everything in our lives. My father took ill when we were very young and we did not have an easy life, but our gratitude for what we did have diminished any sense of lack or want. This same gratitude was shared by almost everyone around us.
In today’s stress filled and divided world, gratitude seems to be put aside and in some instances, forgotten. How important is it for each of us to look at our lives and feel and express genuine gratitude, both personally and as citizens of our country.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, cultural observer and theologian Diana Butler Bass says that “gratitude is central to both our personal and political lives” and “it may be the single most important spiritual practice we can engage in times of turmoil and conflict.”
Diana is the author of ten books on American religion, politics and culture and comments widely in the media about faith and public life. She holds a PhD in religious studies from Duke University, has taught at the college and graduate level, is currently an independent scholar, and teaches and preaches internationally on matters of religion and spirituality. She lives in Virginia with her family. Her website is dianabutlerbass.com and she joins me this week to discuss her new book, Grateful: The Transformative Power of Giving Thanks.
