The Compassionate Kitchen with Venerable Thubten Chodron
Aired Thursday, 23 May 2019, 7:00 PM ET
Food is undoubtedly one of the great pleasures in life… we all spend a good deal of time thinking about it, preparing it, eating it, and then cleaning up afterwards. But how many of us have ever thought about the many activities associated with food as a spiritual practice.
What if, instead of seeing these activities as chores or engaging in them purely for pleasure, we could use them to increase our kindness and care, and as reminders of how we wish to live out the values that bring meaning to our lives.
Venerable Thubten Chodron has been a Buddhist nun since 1977. She has been a close student of the Dalai Lama with whom she has co-authored several books, and is founder and Abbess of Sravasti Abbey, one of the first Tibetan Buddhist Training Monasteries for Western monks and nuns in America.
Acclaimed for her warm, practical, and humorous explanations of how to apply Buddhist teachings in daily life, Ven. Chodron joins Sandie this week to talk about her latest book, The Compassionate Kitchen, in which she shares some of the practices from the Buddhist tradition that help us make eating and all the activities related to it become part of our spiritual practice.

Wealth, Where Are We?
Aired Thursday, 23 May 2019, 4:00 PM EST / 1:00 PM PST
We tend to compare what we have with what we don’t have. Pennie and Matthew will be discussing this more specifically on Thursday’s show. We tend to compare what we have with what other people have. This makes us unhappy. If there was no one to compare with, it would change everything. Most of us would probably feel more fortunate. The ability to see what we don’t have causes us to overlook what we do have.
There’s no way around that. There are only ways to reduce it. We can start by recognizing that envy may be what’s making you feel like you don’t have enough. That’s not true for everyone. Some people truly don’t have enough. But most of us likely do.
Enough will never feel like enough until you recognize that it’s enough. Look for contentment outside material wealth.
Money itself isn’t a master, but we’re in danger of serving. Our own impulses are what enslave us. Material wealth makes it easier for us to delude and trap ourselves by our own desires. So we will discuss the inner wealth that we have a tendency to overlook. Hope you can join us.

“The human voice is the organ of the soul” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
The ancient art of carrying and transmitting information through oral tradition has exponential potential in the present-day New Information Paradigm. Humanity as a whole and sound organism carries all the information necessary for preservation and continuation. Messengers offer the human organism explicit direction and are attuned to the physical, emotional and electromagnetic dimension of the human voice as a powerful vessel for information storage and dissemination. Today’s scientific application of sound for medical purposes and wellness practices are becoming more commonplace as we integrate our collective appreciation of energy, frequency and vibration also prescribed in the ancient arts, such as oral traditions. Join voice master Kara Johnstad and don Jose Ruiz for a soulful exploration of the mysterious ways the human voice transmits information through energy and matter, maintaining and restoring coherency into the subliminal.
About: don Jose Ruiz, is a Toltec Master of Transformation & Modern day Shaman. He is a direct descendant of the Toltecs of the Eagle Night lineage, and is the son of don Miguel Ruiz, author of New York Times bestseller The Four Agreements. He is the author of The Fifth Agreement, Ripples of Wisdom, and My Good Friend The Rattlesnake. Along with his family, he teaches workshops and offers transformational journeys around the world. Emma Toynbee – Positively Tarot
Aired Wednesday, 22 May 2019, 8:00 PM ET
In 1980, The Alan Parsons Project released an album with the title song, “The Turn of A Friendly Card.” The Alan Parsons / Eric Woolfson lyric said, in part,
“There are unsmiling faces in fetters and chains
On a wheel in perpetual motion
Who belong to all races and answer all names
With no show of an outward emotion
And they think it will make their lives easier
But the doorway before them is barred
And the game never ends when your whole world depends
On the turn of a friendly card”
The song may have referred to gambling and also the eternal “cards” we are dealt when we enter this existence. What is truly “in the cards” for each of us. Can the art of reading the Tarot give us the insight, guidance and direction necessary to make changes and improve our lives?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, professional tarot reader Emma Toynbee, says the tarot can provide all-important answers to the many questions of life. Emma Toynbee is a professional metaphysician, clairvoyant reader, astrologer and fine artist trained at St. Martins in London. She studied and has previously taught at the London College of Psychic Studies and runs a London-based practice in Liverpool Street, London. She makes regular appearances at high profile PR and corporate events as a professional tarot reader, most recently at Amazon and Google events. She lives in London, England, and her website is emmatoynbee.com. She joins me this week to discuss her story and her new book, Positively Tarot – A Modern Guide to Mindful Living.

OM TIMES RADIO: 1-202-570-7057
TOPIC: DIVINE WARRIOR GODDESS: STEP INTO YOUR POWER
Kim is a WayShower, GridKeeper, Gatekeeper, Ascended Master of the NEW EARTH. She has studied, practiced and taught spirituality/metaphysics for twenty years and served as a co-founder and ordained minister of a spiritual church for many years. She has dedicated her life to service of all of humanity. Kim no longer “channels” as she once did as we integrate all of our aspects, we merge those aspects within as all of the universe is held within. She offers private sessions by phone, Facebook Messenger and Zoom. Dubbed as the Divine Warrior Goddess by her guides in 2016 because she intuitively gets to the heart of the matter not only in herself but with her clients to get in there and identify the root cause of their pain and suffering (programs yet to be released) so that this energy can be faced, healed and then finally released once and for all. This will also in turn, heal issues from past-lives (there is no separation of time, yet we use these words here) as well and will affect all timelines of the individual in a very positive and profound way. She takes much joy and delight to see her clients on their journey return to wholeness as they ignite their self mastery. Kim also teaches/guides online courses to assist her clients to move forward on their souls journey in this human incarnation as she guides and assists them in too many ways to list here.
Merging it all Together – Kim blends all of her experience and qualifications to assist/teach/share in sessions, writings, videos and products. Her background in the medical field combined with mediumship and energy mastery assists her in understanding the physical vessel and describe/write about ascension for others understanding. She also shares regular energy updates on her Facebook page (Kim Semetis).
Open Mind and Open Heart – Always learning, through courses and through the unified field of consciousness that constantly flows through her, Kim lives with an open heart and open mind at all times.
