This week on It’s Your Ego—Stupid!, Dr. Nick will discuss when, where, and how “ego stupidity” is making its appearance in our life, including the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are intended to help us but are actually doing more harm than good—but we don’t know it. The kind of harm that over time affects our human and spiritual wellness.

During the program, I will refer to specific reflections of ego stupidity which happen even though we are intelligent, spiritual, and “normal” people, that can have us living a lesser version of ourselves and a lesser version of life. Though we often to fail to realize this is happening or what to do about it since its source—unhealthy ego energy—is unrecognized. In particular, this program will have us looking at how this can be happening within the ability to love ourselves, our ability to form close relationships with family and friends, our ability to interact with people in work, play, and social contexts, and our ability to achieve, use our potential, and come to know our life’s purpose.

The current COVID-19 crisis is making these feel like “apocalyptic” times, and as you may know the original meaning of apocalypse is “the lifting of the veils.” Indeed, the veils are being lifted on the fundamental weakness of our “too big to fail” economic – and political – system, that seems to be teetering if not toppling under the weight of this crisis.

Add to this a President who blatantly lies and then demands these lies be accepted as truth, and we truly have a shituation.

This “up-is-down” and “down-is-up” rhetoric and impropaganda is certainly reminiscent of Orwell’s “1984.” As to why it has taken so long for 1984 to manifest in reality, the Swami has an answer: The Republicans are 35 years behind the times.

So, do we say, “Ah well, all’s well that ends Orwell”? Or do we see if we can overgrow Big Brother by fully activating “bigger brotherhood”?

Our guest today, Duncan Campbell, has been tracking the path of “newspeak” for years, and through his Living Dialogues Radio Show he has conversed with literally hundreds of visionaries, illuminaries and solutionaries of our time, from Senator Boren of Oklahoma and Governor Inslee of Washington, to teachers like Deepak Chopra and Jean Houston, to leading edge doctors like Larry Dossey and Andrew Weil (hey, there’s a paradox!) to economists, sociologists, scientists, and entertainers like Judy Collins and Richie Havens. In the process, he has gleaned a wealth of information, and as a synthesizer and contextualizer, and has cultivated knowledge and wisdom.

A graduate of both Harvard and Yale Law Schools, he has been a participant in several world historical events, including the unusual distinction of being the only person to have participated in Woodstock 1969 and in the “Second Russian Revolution” on the barricades defending Yeltsin in front of the Russian White House Parliament building in Moscow on the night of August 20-21, 1991.

In the last 45 years he has gained extensive experience in the fields of psychology, philosophy, spirituality, law, business, finance, politics, communications and teaching, presenting in a variety of formal and informal venues, including the Presidential Showcase at the American Bar Association, Haskell Indian Nations University, and in Europe, Brazil, Russia, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mexico, Canada, Peru, and teaching courses for credit at Harvard College and the JFK Institute of Politics while a student at Harvard Law School.

About Mark Dodich

Mark F. Dodich has provided Astrology and Intuitive Consultations internationally since 1980. Mark holds a C.A.P. (Certified Astrological Professional) from ISAR (International Society of Astrological Research). He is past president of the Oregon Astrological Association and publishes the Astromark newsletter. Since leaving the corporate world of industrial sales to do astrology full time in 1995, he has published hundreds of articles and is regularly heard on the radio, seen on television, and speaks at conferences and metaphysical venues.

Several years ago, Mark began to offer metaphysical travel to sacred places such as Egypt and Greece. Combining astrology, meditation, and healing ceremonies for small groups in ancient energies has been extremely satisfying. An African safari to places inhabited by humans for over 2 million years is the current project.

Metaphysical subjects and techniques that empower spiritual growth are a continual source of interest for Mark. His interest in esoteric subjects started while attending Kent State University, near his birthplace in Canton, Ohio. Mark was fascinated with the study of so-called primitive African tribes that could do telepathy, healing, and even had specific knowledge of stars that were not visible to the naked eye before the telescope was invented. He also studied a local spiritualist church camp to understand intuitive abilities, which he later learned were active in the elders of his own family (Catholics, in those days, did not speak of such things!).

Further studies included a healer/counselor certificate, and then a ministry certificate from the Arizona Metaphysical Society, Frank Alper, and the Church of Tzaddi (I am no longer affiliated with the church, and Frank has since made transition). Mark was a board member of the Church of Alice, a spiritualist church, for over 8 years. Mark also took numerous Native America-style medicine wheel training’s from Sun Bear and other shamanistic teachings He is a past president of the Oregon Astrological Assn (two terms), past treasurer and newsletter editor, and seems to have one of those volunteer stickers on his back!

Before Mark moved to Oregon in 1991, he lived in SE Florida, Houston, Seattle, Colorado Springs, San Francisco, Anchorage, Washington DC, New Jersey, and Santa Fe. Some of these moves were career oriented during his life as an industrial salesperson in industries such as aluminum, mini-blind manufacturing, and industrial supplies. Other moves were for the sake of adventure. It isn’t hard to see how he developed his passion for Relocation Astrology (AstroCartoGraphy® or EARTHLINES™, helping you find your personal power places on planet earth for romance, career, and spiritual service).

Somewhere along the way, Mark developed an interest in the channeled materials of Djwahl Kuhl and Alice A. Bailey. The information on the Seven Rays and the Violet Flame helped Mark to develop his Soul Ray Esoteric Astrology Consultation.

Transformation 101: The Two Truths

Those familiar with Eastern philosophy will recognize the concept of the Two Truths: Absolute and Relative. These ideas can help us tremendously to understand our experience, and to make better decisions every day to grow spiritually and further Massive Transformation in our lives. They feature this week in our series Transformation 101.

Here is the fundamental difference between the Absolute and the Relative: Absolute Truth refers to what is, Relative Truth to what appears to be. If you’re reading into this that one is real and one is not, you would be right. Exactly right.

Eastern philosophy refers to Absolute Truth as the Nature of Mind or the Ground of All Being. In Western terms, we might call it God, Spirit, Source, the Universe, etc. It simply is. In Relative Truth, the world plays out with all its myriad experiences.

In the world with all its variance, it can be a challenge to see another’s needs as our own. Yet this remains our task if we would grow and transform our experience. When our apparent differences seem so pronounced, how can we see past the differences for greater communication and understanding?

The answer lies in Absolute Truth; we seek answers from spiritual practice. The only way to escape an unhappy situation is to seek solutions from outside the confines of that situation. We break out of a psychological prison by coming to realize that there are no walls.
