Stephanie Snow – Healing

In 1980, the Alan Parsons Project released an album called “The Turn of a Friendly Card.” The title track, with lyrics by Parsons and Eric Woolfson, said,
“There are unsmiling faces in fetters and chains

Most of us are familiar with the mystical use of card decks including Tarot, but my guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Stephanie Snow, says, “The modern Playing Card deck is an ancient and metaphysical calendar” and uses the deck to read for her clients.

Lower Ego Vulnerability and Difficulty Loving Yourself

This week on It’s Your Ego—Stupid!, Dr. Nick we’ll be looking intensely into the mirror of being able to love ourselves and discussing the impact that lower ego vulnerability can have on a person’s ability to healthily love themselves and others. A difficulty that has harmful effects on all of the other relationships that a person has in their life. Difficulty loving ourselves also profoundly impacts many other important areas of our life, including our ability to believe in ourselves, to achieve, and to effectively manage conflict. Ultimately, affecting the overall quality of our lives—humanly and spiritually.

During the show, I’ll be looking at symptoms which can reveal the presence of lower ego vulnerability. We’ll also be looking at the reflections of ego stupidity that occur when a person is having difficulty with loving themselves and others. Difficulties that are manifested in one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This program will also look at specific insights which are needed to transform higher ego flexibility into a healthier and more balanced place, as well as the use of ego medicine, in which reality based, truth connected thinking can be used to heal lower ego vulnerability.

Something that seems to be true about we humans is, we are a lot more clear – and vocal – about what we DON’T want than what we DO want. Maybe it’s because that to survive, our ancestors had to be hyper-vigilant about anything that could be harmful, and visioning and designing a future different from our past was relegated to the luxury of leisure time. Add to this the programming that we are “sinners” and that creating a world that works is “utopian”, and we can see how we’ve arrived at the brink of a dark, dystopian reality.

But as the Swami says, we have a choice. If we don’t want dystopia, we have to choose “dat-topia” – an alternative where we use our intelligence intelligently and our resources more resourcefully.

The question of the day – if not the century – is, how do we turn the ideal into the “real deal”? How do we cohere a sacred center around the virtues and values our spiritual teachers have extolled for millennia – and that science is now confirming as the optimal operating system for evolutionary thrival?
