Roles People Live – The Hedonist

This week on It’s Your Ego—Stupid!, Dr. Nick will be looking intensely at people who are living in the role of the Hedonist. The Hedonist has developed an insatiable need for pleasure. They seek to meet this need at every opportunity that presents in which they can experience physical or psychological pleasure. Even when it may come at the expense of others or their own health. They equate pleasure with happiness, and its absence as unhappiness. Unfortunately, their strong desire for pleasure, and limited tolerance for its absence, leads them in the direction of many addictions that can fulfill their pleasure related needs. Which may include but are not limited to alcohol, drugs, food, sex, and gambling.

During this show, I’ll be drawing upon my book The Two Voices Within to look at the impact of Lower Ego Vulnerability on the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors of those living in the role of the Hedonist. I’ll be looking at the “voice” of ego and the messages the Hedonist is experiencing and working with due to the mixture of their Lower Ego Vulnerability energy and their mind. Many of them, the Hedonist is unaware of, but still exerting a powerful negative impact on their life and unfortunately others. I’ll also be looking at what their ego energy is doing to block the Hedonist from hearing the voice of spirit which is rooted in their Divinity. An inability to recognize the Love, Life, and Energy—God Is, within their being, due to the great distance being created by their ego energy. When the Hedonist is able to “hear” the mistruths contained within ego’s voice and the truths in spirit’s voice, the door to transformation can open, and the days of living in the role of Hedonist can be ended.
