Man Seeks God – Flirtations with the Divine with Eric Weiner

We’ll talk about anger that emerges when you least expect it. Anger you may not even realize is at work in the background. And even explosive anger that can result in physical altercations.

On the one hand, being self-expressed, authentic and honoring what’s happening inside the Self is considered healthy. But on the other hand, when does it become irresponsible, self-indulgent, and unnacceptable?

Anger isn’t going away – it’s not supposed to. And the closer we get to confronting the lack of consciousness and respect for others, the more likely it will rage on the surface every interaction and experience.

Is there a way to turn the fire down on anger when circumstances in all quadrants of life are agitating it? And how do we develop more agency with our own anger?

The repercussions of asking people to ‘suck it up’, the consequences of people not having the skills to heal and process life from an early age, and the reverberations of unresolved survival/victimization issues are now finding their way into conversation and producing shocking deeds.

There’s a complexity at play right now, in your body. Some people call it self-regulation, others call it compartmentalization. Have you contemplated how you might be the ‘fanner’ of the flame under our own pressure cooker?

What if the happenings and doings of each and every day are really an intricate coping operation composed of numerous ‘micro-release’ hatches – all designed to manage a churning lava pit that’s roiling deep within?

Sam is going to dive into the essential essence, sometimes scary and oftentimes dominating nature of anger. She’ll shed light on the way we each configure a ‘managing’ relationship with it, and how the ‘danger’ line is closer to the surface than we might’ve previously thought.
