The Planets this week. What do the planets have in store for you this week? We have a busy week! The astro headline is that on Monday, Mercury will turn retrograde and warrior planet Mars moves into Pisces. On Wednesday the Sun moves into Capricorn which coincides with the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. On Saturday we have an unusual Saturn trine Uranus aspect which means the old guard and the new are aligned.

Communication planet Mercury will be retrograde until January 8. It is a phenomenon that has worked its way into mass consciousness. The moment a communication snafu occurs, folks blame Mercury Retrograde! Everyone knows that Mercury Retrograde is a great time to do things that start with ‘re’: repair, reduce, reconsider, recreate.

If you can avoid signing a contract during Mercury Retrograde, fine. If not, go through it carefully a couple of times and get help if you need it. Try not to buy electronic equipment during this period, or travel, because delays and snafus seem to abound.

Warrior planet Mars moves into Pisces where it will stay until January 27th. Under this influence we could be more sensitive than we realize, and many of us may notice that our physical energy has higher peaks and lower valleys than usual. Napping will be a very good thing to do and we may need more sleep than we normally do.

While the Sun is in Capricorn we may feel driven to succeed. We may work long hours to achieve our goals and bring long-term projects to completion. There might not be much time for a personal life. We should try not to sacrifice too much and make sure that what we’re working for is our own definition of success, and not someone else’s.
