Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, Ph.D., was raised in an American family in Hollywood, California, and graduated from Stanford University. She was completing her Ph.D. in Psychology when she left America in 1996 to live at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, India. She has been living there for the past 24 years, engaged in spiritual practice and service.

Sadhviji was officially initiated into the order of Sanyas (monastic renunciation) in the year 2000, by her Guru, His Holiness Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, one of India’s most revered spiritual leaders and the President of Parmarth Niketan.

At Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, where Sadhviji lives most of the year, she gives daily spiritual discourses and Satsang, teaches meditation, provides counseling, and oversees a myriad of charitable and humanitarian projects.

Sadhviji leads discourses and question-answer sessions on topics ranging from Indian spirituality to the bridge between science and spirituality to the keys of true happiness and meaning in daily life and teaches meditation to seekers from every corner of the globe. Higher Ego Power and Difficulty Dealing with Significant Life Changes

This week on “It’s Your Ego—Stupid!”, Dr. Nick will be looking intensely into the mirror of our ability to manage significant life changes that we are called upon to deal with. These include developmental changes involving our health, growth and development. Situational changes involving work, relationships, and finances. Also, societal and technological changes taking place in an ever changing world we are called on to deal with. During the show I’ll be looking at symptoms, reflections of ego stupidity, and the impact on spiritual wellness which occurs when one is caught up in higher ego power energy. I’ll also be looking at specific ego insights needed to transform higher ego power into a healthier and more balanced place.

Unfortunately, for those with higher ego power, these kind of changes can represent a challenge to the control they believe they need to have over what is taking place in their life. Often, leading to their trying to control the change rather than working with it. Their efforts to control the change can take the form of aggressive approaches in which they try to stop the change from happening, pretend it’s not happening, or try to undo the change. The ego stupidity enters into their life when their approaches are out of alignment with the inevitable and natural process of change that unfolds in everyone’s life. Their approach to change can be summed up as controlling change rather than allowing change to control them. Roles they may find their way into living, until they awaken, include the Dictator, the Control Freak, and the Independent.

Trump may be going, going, gone yet Trumpism remains.

Much has been written about Donald Trump’s psychological issues, and yet his appeal – particularly to a certain type of man – remains a bit of a mystery. Many, many people, certainly a majority of adult Americans, recognize Donald Trump as a self-serving liar and con artist. Yet many hold him as a hero, an upholder of American values, and the final firewall between our freedom and a top-down totalitarian “one world government.”

In that prophetic article, he points to Donald Trump’s childhood of serious abuse, neglect, and abandonment, and then warns that other men who have suffered similar indignities would relate to Trump, and revile the same establishment forces he does. But maybe it wasn’t fearlessness, but fearfulness running them.

So … how do we address this psychological disease that nearly caused democracy’s demise? How do we reach the real people struggling with their personal pain and projecting it out on the world? And … how do we uncover the REAL concerns these wounded men hold, and bring them out for resolution?
