So what can we do about it?

ELIZABETH A. STANLEY, PHD is a professor of security studies at Georgetown University, an award-winning author and U.S. Army veteran with service in Asia and Europe who holds degrees from Yale, Harvard, and MIT. A pioneering researcher who knows a lot about chronic stress, anxiety and trauma and has used her personal and professional experience of it to create an effective solution to training your brain and body to thrive during stress and recover from trauma, Elizabeth Stanley joins Sandie this week to talk about her book Widen the Window, which gives us a new understanding of stress and trauma, as well as the tools to heal and thrive .

Tami Simon – Sounds True

When she entered college, Tami Simon started asking questions her teachers couldn’t answer; deeper questions about life and meaning and purpose. She eventually found one teacher from Sri Lanka who talked about the world very differently. She eventually dropped out of college and traveled to Sri Lanka to spend more time with that teacher and his family and begin to create her own path. Returning home about a year later, she was determined to continue to study and explore until one day guidance literally dropped from the ether…disseminate spiritual wisdom. That singular purpose set in motion a quest that led to Boulder, Colorado, and the “inadvertent” launch of Sounds True, a company that started by producing “real-time” audio tapes of spiritual conference talks and has now grown into the leading multimedia wisdom publishing company in the world.
