Jan Engels-Smith has worked extensively in the area of personal development through the advancement of shamanism in a contemporary context. Blending her background in science, psychotherapy, group dynamics and shamanism, she creates a bridge between science and metaphysics.
About the Guest Jan Engels-Smith
Jan Engels-Smith MEd, ShD, is an author, a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Chemical Dependency Specialist, a Hypnotherapist, a Shamanic Practitioner and a Reiki Master.
Jan has performed over 3500 soul retrievals and considered an expert in her field. She founded LightSong Healing Center and LightSong School of 21st Century Shamanism and Energy Medicine. Her mission is to provide excellence in shamanic education adapting ancient healing techniques to contemporary life. Incorporating 10 years of teaching advanced science in physics, biology and chemistry Jan blends science and the quantum fields of shamanism. Jan contributes to the growing body of shamanic knowledge and assists in the evolution and refinement of shamanism as a healing art form.
Jan has authored two books. Becoming Yourself: The Journey from Head to Heart, won the Reader’s Choice Award. Through the Rabbit Hole: Explore and Experience the Shamanic Journey and Energy Medicine: a book and a video series featuring the shamanic journey. Jan authored two CDs: Take Your Body With You a shamanic drumming CD and Awaken~Unburden~Create a meditation CD package of shamanic principles.
Jan was featured in The Gift of Shamanism and Shamanic Transformations, published by Inner Traditions. Jan is currently involved with medical research teams studying the use of Shamanic Healing for Veterans with PTSD.
