The big news of the week is Jupiter moving into Libra! During the twelve plus months Jupiter is in Libra many of us will be at our best when we are working to bring together people of vastly different ideas, backgrounds, and cultures.

Our natural curiosity about the world and our ability to talk to anyone gives us, over time, a fantastic range of friends, acquaintances, and experiences, which we’ll draw from as we connect this person with that person in ways that are beneficial to everyone.

During this transit many of us will have a keen sense of justice and may be attracted to a profession in the legal field. There is something noble and idealistic about many of us, as if our ideas are so virtuous and elevated that mere humans can only aspire to them. For many of us, our ideals are built on our inner faith and belief that everyone deserves justice and equality.

At this time, folks will promote peace, not war. We believe in diplomacy over force. Our desire is to improve the world and leave it a better place. And while we are here, many will probably enjoy some of the finer things that life has to offer. Our tastes could be quite refined, not to mention expensive. There’s an appreciation of fine art, music and culture. The wonderful thing is that these things also feed the soul.

It’s a busy astrological week! The big news is the Solar Eclipse on Thursday which presents an opportune time for big new starts and beginnings over the coming months. There may be a feeling or a desire brewing within for some sort of change. This is a time for planting seeds, for birthing new ideas and starting afresh.

Creatively speaking, inspiration can be residing somewhere just beneath the surface, barely breaking into conscious thought. Give yourself ample space to listen to the little voice inside you. Evaluate the various areas in your life that you would like to make changes in or put energy into.

Also this week, love planet moves into Libra so your social life could be in full swing over the next few weeks. Gracious manners come naturally and our charms are irresistible. Many of us will easily attract friends and lovers and may find ourselves to be quite popular, with social calendars booked solid.

We might also go out of our way to avoid conflict or confrontation during this transit, smoothing over differences of opinion to keep the peace – even if that means sacrificing our own needs or desires.

Tuesday, Mercury turns retrograde in Virgo. This influence may generate some frustration as we charitably give our support and assistance to others in need. Although we may see a lot of obvious solutions that could elude other minds, our insistence to help save the day may be misinterpreted and resented by the recipients.

The Sun moves into Virgo on Monday 22nd and you could find yourself working hard to improve yourself and serve others. You might become more critical, and possibly judgmental, as you notice all the things that could be better, both in your own life and in the world. You have a strong desire to make a positive difference, and are willing to dig in and get busy to make it happen.

Watch out for being too hard on yourself, or on your loved ones. The desire for perfection can be a great motivator, but if your standards are too high, you could be prone to disappointment and disillusion. You might become aware that you need to improve your skills to accomplish your goals. Don’t be too proud to ask for the help you need to polish and perfect your talents. This can be a great period for finding a mentor and undergoing some kind of apprenticeship.

Health and self-care come into focus, and you might pay more attention to your daily routines and habits. What’s not working about your schedule will become apparent, and you’ll have more motivation than usual to make positive changes that increase your overall well-being. Your system — especially digestion — could be extra-sensitive, and a simple, wholesome diet will probably serve you best.

To counter the tendency to be hyper-critical, make a point of appreciating the little things in life, and “find God” in the details of your daily existence. Washing the dishes can be an irksome chore or a mind-expanding meditation, depending on your attitude.

There are twelve signs in the Zodiac, one for each month of the year. Unfortunately, the signs and the calendar don’t align perfectly. You may be more critical of potential suitors or, if in a relationship, of your partner. Although you may think you’re being helpful, your words could be received as harsh or judgmental. How will this week’s planetary influences be affecting you? Monday is going to be a very hectic day, astrologically speaking. There’s a Full Moon which is the second Full Moon in Sagittarius this year. This is a rare occurrence and means it will be critical to wrap things up or finish what you have started.

Also on Monday, astrologers in the Northern Hemisphere will be celebrating the Summer Solstice! Of course, astrologers in the Southern Hemisphere will be celebrating the Winter Solstice. This important event in astrology coincides with the Sun moving into Cancer where it will be until July 22nd.

At the time of the Summer Solstice, the Sun rises and sets at the greatest northern distance from the equator, and it achieves the greatest elevation in the sky at midday. Summer officially begins with the longest day of the year and the shortest night in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere, the reverse is true: This is the shortest day of the year and the longest night.

While the Sun is in Cancer you might long for deeper connections and a sense of belonging. Familiarity and security seem more important than meeting new people or exploring new places or ideas. Your impulse now is to strengthen bonds with your partner, family and close friends.

The past may have a strong pull now, and you could find yourself lost in nostalgia, flipping through photo albums or grandma’s old memorabilia. You might also be drawn to reconnect with people from your past, or to revisit your old haunts. Traditions are more attractive now, and you could even have a tendency to be a bit old-fashioned.

Get out and socialize. You’ve got the gift of gab, and might especially enjoy day trips with friends, neighborhood gatherings, and speed dating. Trivia games, crosswords, and any activities requiring dexterity could be satisfying now. Fine woodworking and playing musical instruments could also be fun for your nimble fingers.

When Venus moves into Cancer on Friday we may find ourselves longing for deep emotional connections. Casual relationships don’t appeal — it’s intimacy that we will crave.
