In Shakespeare’s immortal play, Julius Caesar, Cassius tries to convince Brutus that it is in the best interest of the Roman people to stop Caesar from becoming monarch. The famous line reads, The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves. Examining the world as it is today, we might pause and ask if the fault actually is in our stars.

In 1944, Author W. Somerset Maugham published his novel, The Razor’s Edge. His title was taken from the Katha-Upanishad, one of the great Hindu scriptures, and specifically from the quote, “”The sharp edge of a razor is difficult to pass over; thus the wise say the path to Salvation is hard.”
