Valentine’s Day is around the corner and love is in the air…but what about those still looking for love or trying to spice up a relationship that has lost its spark…or even those trying to find the most elusive love, self-love?
In his 1993 hit written by Jim Steinman, Mealoaf sang…”I will do anything for love…but I won’t do that.” I always wondered what “that” referred to and there’s been a lot of speculation. But what if “that” had something to do with energy work and magick? Can magick bring us the lover of our dreams, refresh a love that’s grown cold or even help us to find love within?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Lilith Dorsey, has researched these questions with passion and experience for years. Lilith is a magical practitioner and voodoo priestess with training in several traditions, including Celtic, Afro-Caribbean, and Native American spiritualties. She owns her own magickal consulting business, Branwen’s Pantry, and is editor and publisher of Oshun-African Magickal Quarterly. She is also the author of Voodoo and Afro-Caribbean Paganism and The African-American Ritual Cookbook, and is a blogger on Patheos. She has a degree in anthropology from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Fine Arts from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She joins us to share about her new book, Love Magic: Over 250 Spells and Potions for Getting It, Keeping It and Making It Last.

Inscribed in the forecourt of the Temple of Apollo in Delphi is the ancient Greek maxim, “Gnothi Seauton” or “Know Thyself”. How many of us really know ourselves? How many of us measure our happiness and the very nature of our existence by the external forces in our lives like relationships, family, social connections, and careers. Is there a way to really know ourselves and find inner happiness, self-love and balance? My guest this week, Agapi Stassinopoulos says there is and shares the path she has found in her new book, Wake Up To The Joy of You: 52 Meditations And Practices For a Calmer, Happier Life.
Agapi is a best-selling author and speaker who inspires audiences around the world. She was trained in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and then moved on to receive her master’s degree in psychology from the University of Santa Monica. Her previous books on the Greek archetypes, Gods and Goddesses in Love and Conversations with the Goddesses, were turned into PBS specials. She is currently conducting workshops for Thrive Global, a company founded by her sister, Arianna Huffington, to help change the way we work and live.

When we think of the roots of Western Civilization, our minds go to ancient Greece and the great philosophers like Pythagoras, Plato and Socrates. The question arises, were their ideas and concepts original and unique to them or were they inspired by others… other cultures and other civilizations?
What would you think if you were told that there were Ashrams in Europe 2500 years ago or that many of the famous Greek Philosophers studied in India and were directly influenced by the great yogic traditions?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Linda Johnsen, says there is impressive historical evidence for this and that Western tradition bears a striking resemblance to Eastern spirituality.
Linda Johnsen is a long-time student of religious philosophy. She holds degrees in Eastern and Western Psychology and has post-graduate training in Theology and Sanskrit. She is the award winning author of eight books including Daughters of the Goddess: The Women Saints of India and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Hinduism. Hundreds of her articles have appeared in Yoga International, Yoga Journal and other publications. She joins me this week to discuss her new book, Lost Masters: Rediscovering the Mysticism of the Ancient Greek Philosophers.

The bible refers to money as “the root of all evil”. Jackson Brown’s “The Pretender” lyric described life as being “Caught between the longing for love and the struggle for the legal tender.” Why do we spend so much time worrying about money—working long hours to make ends meet while denying ourselves and our loved ones of quality time and happiness.
My guest this week, Leanne Jacobs, says that the sad truth is that no matter how many zeros our paycheck contains, most of us are not only financially broke but spiritually and emotionally broke. But in her new book, Beautiful Money, The Four Week Total Wealth Makeover, she guides readers to tidy up and cleanse their personal finances by taking a holistic approach, creating prosperity financially, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

The leaders of our world who shape much of our lives including politicians, bankers and business people, scientists, spiritual leaders and the stars of media and entertainment…What can ancient wisdom teach us about the esoteric forces that shaped and formed these individuals who have such a profound effect on our world?
My guest this week, Klaire D. Roy, is the new amanuensis of the occult thought flow of the Master Djwhal Khul, also known as Tibetan or Master D.K. The wisdom of the Tibetan was first revealed in the the writings of Alice A. Bailey and Madame Helena P. Blavatsky in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Klaire has previously published three volumes of the most recent teachings of D.K., which reveal a revolutionary vision of a New Tantrism. In the future, more books are to be published under D.K.’s inspiration.

Jill Mattson - The Lost Waves of Time

Wednesday Dec 21, 2016
Aired Wednesday, 21 December 2016, 8:00 PM ET
In the 1968 album, In Search of the Lost Chord, Graeme Edge of the Moody Blues shared this tone poem called “The Word”.
“This garden universe vibrates complete.
Some we get a sound so sweet.
Vibrations reach on up to become light,
And then thru gamma, out of sight.
Between the eyes and ears there lie,
The sounds of colour and the light of a sigh.
And to hear the sun, what a thing to believe.
But it’s all around if we could but perceive.”
Can we perceive the sounds and vibrations of the universe, of everything… and if we can, how can we benefit from this in Body, Mind and Spirit. My guest this week, Jill Mattson, has the answers to these questions.
Jill Mattson is an accomplished artist, musician, lecturer & author. She is a recording artist, with numerous CDs using ancient and modern Sound Healing techniques. Her Deep Wave Beauty CD was a finalist for the Coalition of Visionary Resources Specialty CD of 2012 award.
Jill has authored several Sound Healing books, and lectures throughout the United States on the topic sound, spirit, and matter. She draws on her extensive research of modern Sound Healing, and 20 year study of Antiquities and Secret Societies to show the incredible power and healing capabilities of sound. And she’s the author of the award winning book, The Lost Waves of Time: The Untold Story of How Music Shaped Our World…

Carmel Niland - Merlin’s Secrets

Wednesday Dec 07, 2016
Aired Wednesday, 7 December 2016, 8:00 PM ET
One of my favorite songs by Justin Hayward and Ray Thomas of the Moody Blues is “Are You Sitting Comfortably,” a transcendent, meditative piece from the 1969 album, “On the Threshold of a Dream.” Backed by a soothing blend of Thomas’ flute, Hayward’s guitar and Mike Pinder’s mellotron, the lyric invited us to take a magical journey to an ancient time.
Ride along the winds of time and see where we have been,
The glorious age of Camelot, when Guinevere was Queen.
It all unfolds before your eyes
As Merlin casts his spell.
What if we could be magically transported back to those days of chivalry, romance, magic and adventure. What if Camelot were here and now?
My guest, Carmel Niland, give us this gift with a little bit of a twist in the first novel in her series of Merlin’s Secrets, A Darker Magic This Way Comes.
Carmel, a true renaissance woman, is as fascinating a character as the ones she creates. In public, Carmel Niland has been a formidable leader, a CEO working for the largest state government in Australia, heading multifaceted agencies that champion gender and racial equality, human rights, child protection and disability services. In private, Carmel has been fascinated with historical legends, particularly the tales of King Arthur and his famed magician, Merlin.
For decades Merlin captivated her imagination. Blending her keen interest in Arthurian legend with a passion for Roman British Archaeology, Carmel devoured every piece of literature she could get her hands on and visited every Iron Age and Roman fort in England, Scotland and Wales crossing hill and dale and climbing any fortifications associated with Arthur. This desire for knowledge about the once and future king compelled her to use her research to reimagine his and Merlin’s story. Now she has created her first novel based upon the ancient legends. A Darker Magic This Way Comes is the first book in a series of five for readers, who like her, love secrets, mysteries and something very strange. Carmel resides in Sydney with her husband John and share a wondrous garden at Mount Victoria in the Blue Mountains. She is also President of the Iris Society of Australia.

See if this description fits you. You are bright, talented, have amazing gifts and want to share them with your co-workers, your community or even the world. You are also a perfectionist who hesitates to share your work until it is above reproach, an over-achiever who takes on too many tasks simultaneously and as a result of these traits, you procrastinate and lose direction. Is there a way you can turn this around, fulfill your dreams and be successful?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Sam Bennett, knows well the attributes I just described. She lived them and found simple, easy and fun ways to turn them around. Sam created the Organized Artist Company to help creative people get unstuck and achieve their goals. She is a writer, actor, teacher and creativity/productivity specialist who has counseled thousands of artists and entrepreneurs on their way to success. Sam is the author of Get It Done and she joins us this week to share her new book, Start Right Where You.
