G. L. Davies – Harvest: The True Story of Alien Abduction
Aired Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
Listeners to Destination Unlimited as well as personal friends have heard me share stories of frequent paranormal experiences when I was a child. Growing up in the 1950’s, I witnessed the apparitions of family members in spirit, only to have these confirmed by word of their passing shortly after my sightings. I also had what some have termed “contactee” experiences with beings of unknown origin and frequent UFO sightings. I called these experiences “night school” because I regarded these entities as “teachers” and always had knowledge following the events that I had no other source for. In retrospect, for me these contacts were pleasant and filled with wonder. Unfortunately, many contactees are not willing participants and found these experiences frightening, painful and traumatic. They call themselves abductees and what many of them share are cautionary tales of warning for humanity.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, G.L. Davies, authored brand new book about one woman’s abduction experience and the frightening things she endured and learned. With a lifelong fascination of all things paranormal, G.L. Davies is the author of six books on the subject. Davies’ passion has always been for the paranormal and has spent years listening to and collating local ghost stories and myths. He admits he is on the fence in terms of his beliefs; he has witnessed many strange occurrences in his life but prefers to travel the psychological and rational route before making any assumptions. He respects the views of all on the subject, maintaining that no person alive has the necessary knowledge and understanding of time, space and the intricacies of the human mind to be certain about the paranormal. His books include A Most Haunted House, The Paranormal Chronicles and Ghost Sex Violation. He is the creator of the website, https://theparanormalchronicles.com/ and he joins me this week to discuss his new book which will be released the day before Halloween, Harvest: The True Story of Alien Abduction.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can occur after you have been through a trauma. A trauma is a shocking and dangerous event that you see or that happens to you. Going through trauma is not rare. About 60% of men and 50% of women experience at least one trauma in their lives. According to the National Institute of Health, About 7 or 8 out of every 100 people (or 7-8% of the population) will have PTSD at some point in their lives. About 8 million adults have PTSD during a given year. This is only a small portion of those who have gone through a trauma. PTSD can lead to depression, anxiety and a serious interruption of one’s life. Treatment often involves a variety of therapies and medication. Is there another, newer, more positive and life affirming approach to treating and healing trauma?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Dane Stevens, is an author, speaker and facilitator. He is the developer of the Neuro Trauma Healing Process (NTHP) and the Soul Re-Cognition Process (SRC). These healing modalities were developed out of sheer necessity as he had his nervous system seriously compromised by a well-meaning therapist who tried to force a child-hood trauma out him. It left him in a state of constant anxiety and turned his life into complete shambles, leaving him homeless, afraid and out-of-control. It took him five years to understand what had happened to him and another year to discover what would give him relief and give him his life back. The result of that five-year-search is the Neuro Trauma Healing Process (NTHP.)
Dane now lives very happily in the interior of British Columbia with his life partner Anne. They teach the Neuro Trauma Healing Process to those in need of healing and those wanting to get trained in this profound new process. Dane feels incredibly lucky to have come through what he has and blessed to have discovered this process that brought deep peace, connection and fulfillment into his life. His websites are https://danestevensonline.com/ and http://anextrordinarylife.ca/ and he joins me this week to share his story and his book, Reclaim Your Power To Create Your Best Life.

Dr. Lynda Ulrich – Happiness is an Option

When I grew up in the late sixties and early seventies, those of us who envisioned a different path including world peace, environmental conservation, equality and brotherly love were labeled “radicals.” Several months ago in the midst of the pandemic, I advocated that it was a time for “radical action.” These actions included radical kindness, radical generosity of material and spirit, radical service to others, radical compassion and radical love. I think I left one item of that list, radical happiness. It is true that most of those that perform the acts I alluded to are generally happy in the doing and giving. But with all of the negative news, the fear that it generates and the amplification of this through social media, can we truly be happy? Is happiness an option?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Dr. Lynda Ulrich, says that “Happiness Is An Option” and that we can be “Thriving (Instead of Surviving) in the Era of the Internet!” Dr. Lynda Ulrich has been a business leader, global traveler, artist and innovator her whole life. From her earliest experiences, she learned to seek goodness around her, demand it when it was lacking, and never take a day for granted. She and her childhood sweetheart, and eventual husband and business partner, Dr. Chuck Verderber, turned their wonder at the world, and comfort with risk, into a lifetime of making counter-intuitive choices that brought them challenges, lessons and countless blessings. Together they have built a unique dental practice in Northern Vermont with a focus on keeping the humanity in health care. That foundation with further inspiration led her to create a place on the internet with no politics or ads where visitors may feel confident about the future. The website is https://everwideningcircles.com/ and she joins me this week to discuss her new book, Happiness is an Option: Thriving Instead of Surviving in the Era of the Internet.

In 1939, the ocean liner SS St. Louis left Germany with more than 900 Jewish refugees fleeing anti-Semitic persecution. Arrangements had been made for them to disembark in Cuba with proper papers. Cuba denied them permission to land. The captain then attempted to bring them to Florida. Again they were denied. After a final denial of entry by Canada, the ship returned to Europe where some of the refugees were accepted in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and France. Many were later caught in Nazi sweeps of the occupied countries and ultimately among the six-million murdered in the concentration camps.
There were survivors from the SS St. Louis, a journey called “The Voyage of the Damned,” and many had heart wrenching stories to share. One of those is the miraculous story of a little girl saved by an amazing act of love.
Joining me on Destination Unlimited this week is my dear friend Judith Koeppel Steel. Judy was that little girl and her moving story is one of love, sacrifice and separation, redemption and hope. Judy is an ordained interfaith minister, cantor, Reiki Master and devoted mother and grandmother. Her web site is http://cantorjudithsteel.com/ and she joins me this week to share her story and her just published book, Love Brought Me Through the Holocaust.

Empathy is defined as the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Technology and advances in the way we connect with one another, originally thought of as exciting new channels of communication, seem to have led to more isolation. We now spend more time on a screen than we do sleeping. We are more connected than ever before, and yet we are suffering with the highest levels of loneliness in history–coupled with anxiety and depression. Add the challenges of physical separation mandated by the COVID-19 pandemic and we have the recipe for a world in which empathy and compassion may ultimately be the gifts of a bygone era. Is there a way that we may turn this around? How may empathy be restored in our homes, businesses, government, nation and world? How may the younger generations who will be assuming future leadership reconnect and embrace empathy and compassion?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Mimi Nicklin, says that by “Softening the Edge” we may restore empathy as a trait of understanding and compassion. Mimi Nicklin is an author and the host of the “Empathy for Breakfast” breakfast show as well as the “Secrets of The Gap” podcast. She is an experienced marketer and communications specialist, a well-known empathetic leader, and the Creative Officer and Regional Managing Director for a global advertising agency. For more than fifteen years she has been working across the globe with her clients to drive stand out creative interventions that lead to business and culture change. Having lived and worked in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Dubai, Mimi’s approach changes organizations from the inside out, focusing on cultural, behavioral and mindset change. She is a natural coach, writer and creative mind, and has held roles as diverse as Strategic Director, Vice President and Creative Officer in some of the world’s leading advertising agencies. Her passion for balancing humanism with capitalism drives her commitment to leading the practice of Regenerative and Empathetic leadership, as well as her ‘principles of people’, into organizations and communities worldwide. Her website is https://www.miminicklin.com/ and she joins me this week to discuss her just published book, SOFTENING THE EDGE: How Humanity’s Oldest Leadership Trait Is Changing Our World.

Aired Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
I started this program on OmTimes Radio in 2016 as a way of exploring my life-long fascination with science and spirituality and how they blend. Having lived in both sides of my brain since childhood, I’ve sought out guests who have shared this fascination and experience. With our world and nation in transition as never before in history, those of us who have pursued this path are needed to bring healing, balance, understanding and compassion to our brothers and sisters. One of the wonderful leaders in the forefront of this field is my guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Dr. Theresa Bullard.
Dr. Theresa Bullard is a Ph.D. Physicist, the host of “Mystery Teachings” on Gaia TV, and an International Spiritual Teacher with the Modern Mystery School. She merges science, ancient wisdom, and powerful time-tested techniques for harnessing consciousness. Dr. Bullard brings a truly fresh and powerfully altering approach. She’s the author of The Game Changers: Social Alchemists of the 21st Century. Her website is https://theresabullard.com/ and she joins me this week to discuss her path and how we may share in her discoveries to bring balance and compassion to a rapidly changing world.

In 1940, Thomas Wolfe’s novel, You Can’t Go Home Again, was published posthumously. The fictional story line addresses the issue of our roots and whether we may return to them, physically and spiritually, and what we will find when we do. If we had the means of travelling back and reconnecting with generations past, what would we learn? How would their lives and their connection to the world they lived in, including their relationship with each other, nature and spirituality, afford us an opportunity for reflection and renewal? Can we truly go home again?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Randy Kritkausky, lived this experience. He journeyed into the realm of his ancestral Native American connections and intimate encounters with Mother Earth and says we all have the ability to spiritually reconnect with our ancestors and nature. Randy Kritkausky is an enrolled tribal member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. He is a founder of ECOLOGIA, an international environmental organization that works on the planet’s more extreme challenges, and formerly professor at Keystone College, research scholar at Middlebury College, and Erasmus Mundus Scholar at the Central European University in Budapest and Lund University in Sweden. He lives in Vermont. His website is http://www.randykritkausky.com/ and he joins me this week to discuss his new book, Without Reservation: Awakening to Native American Spirituality and the Ways of Our Ancestors.

In the late 1980’s, I participated in a series of wonderful retreats at a Zen Monastery in upstate New York. We were a collection of dear friends, yoga teachers and seekers, coming together for a common experience of practice, meditation and compassion. At one of those retreats, a poem came through me reflecting the experience. The poem was called, “The Power of One.” It said,
The energy flows from the love of the sun and charges a soul
The Power of One
That energy shared with a spirit that’s new, a heart opens up
The Power of Two
Ebbing and flowing from women to men, hearts on the wavelength
The Power of Ten
And when all of the millions with compassion run
The birth of the new mind
The power of one.
Is it possible to find that collaborative, shared energy and compassion in a world that needs it more than ever? I recently was invited to join a wonderful on-line group called Collective Online Healing. Collective Online Healing is not about any one person. It is about all of us working together to create something new, but it had to be started by someone. My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Andrew Appel, has been studying the potential of various healing modalities since 1994, and has worked with thousands of people, and many gifted healers from around the world during this time. He has been particularly interested in large group healing for the past seven years, and to date has also hosted more than one hundred fifty in-person group healing events in New York City. At this time of physical separation, he founded and created Collective Online Healing and the Collective Online Healing Facebook group. He joins me this week to discuss this wonderful effort.

As I’ve shared on Destination Unlimited before, I was a child of the 1950’s and a product of the dramatic cultural changes of the 60’s and 70’s. Our generation had a vision of hope where all people would share in the dream and the promise of America with equality, humanity and compassion. Somewhere along the way, our vision blurred, our efforts lost focus, the dream turned into a nightmare and the promise was unfulfilled. Now we see bitter political partisanship, heated clashes over immigration, the climate crisis, income inequality, sexism, racism and gun violence. Our country was plagued with these problems long before COVID-19 hit. Is the United States headed for a second Civil War? Is our democracy facing the threat of extinction?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Glenn Aparicio Parry, sees the current state of turmoil, not as a harbinger of doom but as a sign of our potential for renewal. He foresees a political evolution that ultimately returns America to wholeness through our true sacred purpose: unity in diversity. Glenn Aparicio Parry is a writer, educational consultant, international speaker, and entrepreneur with a vision to reform thinking and education into a coherent, cohesive whole. From 1999-2011, he organized and participated in the groundbreaking Language of Spirit Conferences, bringing together Native and Western scientists in dialogue. The founder and past president of the SEED Institute, he currently runs a think tank and regularly moderates dialogues. He is the author of the Nautilus award-winning Original Thinking: A Radical Revisioning of Time, Humanity and Nature. He lives in northern New Mexico. His website is https://originalthinking.us/ and he joins me this week to discuss his groundbreaking and hopeful new book, ORIGINAL POLITICS: Making America Sacred Again.

It’s been a source of wonderment since childhood. It’s been the subject of poetry, music, art and astrology. It’s been at the heart of tales of fantasy, horror, romance and magick! It is responsible for both ocean and emotional tides. Without it, life on Earth could not exist. Humanity has visited there and will visit again. Of course, I am referring to our Moon, also known as the Goddess Luna, and the spell she has cast on humankind from the very beginning. Why is the Moon so filled with magick and may we call upon her energies to heal us, empower us and as a focal point for our heart’s desires?
Returning to Destination Unlimited this week is my dear friend and favorite witch, Melanie Marquis. Melanie Marquis is the founder of the United Witches global coven and the organizer of Denver Pagans. She has written for Circle, Pentacle, and the American Tarot Association. Melanie’s books include The Witch’s Bag of Tricks, A Witch’s World of Magick, Beltane, and Lughnasadh. She is the co-creator of The Modern Spellcaster’s Tarot and the coauthor of Witchy Mama. Melanie lives in Denver, Colorado. Her website is https://melaniemarquis.com/ and she joins me this week to discuss her brand new book, Llewellyn’s Little Book of Moon Spells.
