Mike Anthony – Love, Dad: How My Father Died… Then Told Me He Didn’t
Aired Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
Since the passing of my mother in January 2020, my brother, sister, and I have had many wonderful signs and messages that her presence is with us. With so many friends having similar losses in the era of COVID-19, I shared the following in my “Aphorisms” notes:
Life, in this dimension, is finite.
Our essential selves are infinite.
As we mourn loss in the temporal,
let us embrace the permanent
and never forget that love is eternal.
There are those who truly embrace this and, in their grief, are comforted by the presence of the essential selves of their loved ones. But what of those who do not feel this and those who doubt that this communication, this contact, is even possible?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Mike Anthony, was a skeptic until a series of events proved to him that love survives death. Mike Anthony has been a professional actor and a (not-professional) bartender. It was in the role of the latter that he was lucky enough to experience from an up-close perspective the ride that, Hamilton: An American Musical, took as it rocketed into Broadway history. His first book, Life at Hamilton, chronicles his extraordinary time there. Beyond his life in theater, Mike’s journey took an unexpected turn when his dad passed, leading him down a remarkable path of discovery. He now spends a good portion of his time exploring evidence suggestive of the survival of consciousness beyond the demise of the physical body. A part of Mike’s story is shared in the Netflix™ documentary series, “Surviving Death.” His website is https://www.mikeanthony.com/ and he joins me this week to share his story and his book, Love, Dad: How My Father Died… Then Told Me He Didn’t.

Allison Jones – Measure Twice, Cut Once: Navigating Negativity in Toxic Relationships
Aired Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
When I was growing up, I showed an affinity for electronics and all things electrical. Woodworking and carpentry were foreign to me and as a result, one of the classes I did poorly in was “wood shop.” I do remember the shop teacher emphasizing a series of rules and principles. The one that he impressed upon us was, “measure twice, cut once.” This admonition was, to avoid errors and waste, be sure of your measurement before cutting the wood. It was sound and practical advice. May this advice also apply to our life choices including careers, associations, and relationships?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Allison Jones, says that when it comes to all our interpersonal engagements, we should “measure twice, cut once!” Allison Jones is a southside Chicago native who joined the military after high school and traveled the country as a federal contractor and subject matter expert in human resources, business development and federal personnel programs. She was the on-air talent for her eponymous business show on CBS AM, “The Big Talker” in Washington D.C. Allison spent a vast amount of her career mentoring and coaching many people to personal and business success and has been sought after to deliver powerful and contemporary lectures on topics that engage, empower, and inspire people to live their most genuine and happy lives. Her philosophy is, “we are here to learn who we are and what we are here to do and whatever it is, it is to be shared.” Manifestation is truly the only way to have the life you desire and Allison instructs people on how to manifest their dreams, doing so as a personal and business coach and as a professor of business in Arizona. Her website is http://theallisonjones.com/ and she joins me this week to share her story and her new book, Measure Twice, Cut Once: Navigating Negativity in Toxic Relationships.

Michael Schauch – A Story of Karma: Finding Love and Truth in the Lost Valley of the Himalaya
Aired Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
In 1963 when I was ten, I read James Hilton’s classic, Lost Horizon. The following year, I found W. Somerset Maugham’s The Razor’s Edge. I was fascinated by these two fictional tails of western men who found awakening, purpose and a deep sense of peace during journeys to the mountains of Northern India and Tibet. I always mused about this type of journey but my path led elsewhere. It was not my “karma.” Are there those who actually followed a calling that seemed to have one purpose but completely changed their lives?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Michael Schauch, had just this experience and found that synchronicity and destiny may lead us to Karma. Michael Schauch is a mountaineer, entrepreneur and storyteller who lives to explore remote places around the world and to share the depth and beauty of human connection he discovers along the way. With early success as an entrepreneur at age 15, and more than 20 years of global financial investment experience, he brings his business acumen and altruistic heart to lead and support local and international mentorship, fundraising and educational initiatives. These include the education of girls and student mentorship in Nepal, outdoor youth leadership for those facing barriers to access nature and holistic Indigenous leadership development in British Columbia. He holds an MBA from Queen’s University and is a member of the Explorers Club. He and his partner in adventure, Chantal, make their base camp in Squamish, nestled in British Columbia’s rugged Coast Mountains and temperate rainforests. His website his https://www.michaelschauch.com/ and he joins me this week to share his path and his amazing book, A Story of Karma: Finding Love and Truth in the Lost Valley of the Himalaya.

Joe Petroski – Healing and Hope
Aired Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
In January 2001, I had the honor of testifying before The White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. I was one of many healers and practitioners sharing our backgrounds, and the efficacy of our practices. Many of us also had the shared experience of a serious health crisis that changed our lives and paths. I recently had the synchronicity of meeting and becoming friends with a man who lived this transformative change and now brings the gift of “Profound Power” to others.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Joe Petroski, is CEO and founder of Profound Power Inc. He is a professional speaker, spiritual teacher, and certified healer in Chinese Energetics. Joe found his path through his personal victory over a long illness and certain death. When given the diagnosis of “there’s nothing more we can do,” Joe began his journey of healing. His website is https://profoundpower.net/ and he joins me this week to share his story, path and message of healing and hope.

Dr. Kenneth Doka – When We Die: Extraordinary Experiences at Life’s End
Aired Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
Premonitions of death, near-death experiences, and afterlife communication are common experiences, but they may be difficult for some to discuss and understand. With the amplified loss of life from the COVID-19 pandemic and grieving often exacerbated by physical separation, it is comforting to understand and embrace the experiences of others and know what is possible at life’s end.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Dr. Kenneth Doka, is a world-renowned expert on death, dying and bereavement, and has explored dozens of case studies and fascinating research on the unusual phenomenon related to the dying process and helps us come to an understanding of what these experiences mean. Dr. Doka has edited or written more than 35 acclaimed books on death-related subjects including Grief is a Journey. He is a senior consultant for the Hospice Foundation of America and President of The Association for Death Education and Counseling and The International Work Group on Death, Dying and Bereavement. His website is http://drkendoka.com/ and he joins me this week to discuss his work and his latest book, When We Die: Extraordinary Experiences at Life’s End.

Rabbi Michael Lerner – Revolutionary Love
Aired Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
In the spring of 2020, with the spread of the pandemic, the challenges it presented, the egregious acts of racism and racial violence and a failure of leadership to address these challenges, I shared on this program and in my community that it was a time for acts of radical kindness, radical compassion and radical love. We begin 2021 with the recognition that these acts continue to call to us and that our very survival is contingent on caring for one another, our environment, and our world. How may we find a path to this and in doing so open the hearts and minds of all peoples to this reality.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Rabbi Michael Lerner, has made this path much of his life’s work. Rabbi Lerner is an American political activist, the editor of “Tikkun”, a progressive Jewish interfaith magazine based in Berkeley, California, and the Rabbi of Beyt Tikkun Synagogue in Berkeley. Rabbi Lerner’s legacy of political activism was launched in 1964 when he attended UC Berkeley. He walked past students sitting in protest, listened to their speeches, and joined their efforts quickly becoming a leader in the student movement. The failures of the social change movements of the 60s and 70s inspired him to study psychology to gain a deeper understanding of the psychodynamics of American society. Intellectual wisdom and curiosity as well as spiritual depth have always been the foundation of his work and efforts, giving rise to many articles, books, and ultimately, Tikkun magazine. His best-selling books include The Left Hand of God, Spirit Matters and Jewish Renewal. You can find out more about him at the websites Tikkun.org and http://beyttikkun.org/. He joins me this week to share his path, his work and his new book, Revolutionary Love: A Political Manifesto To Heal and Transform the World.

Aired Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
In the classic film series, “The Matrix”, Morpheus counsels the awakening Neo by saying, “You Have To Let It All Go, Neo – Fear, Doubt, And Disbelief. Free Your Mind.” Do you ever have a sense that you are living in a “Matrix” like existence? Have the events of 2020 raised doubt about what is true and what is not? Are you seeking clarity and a reconnection to source in a pure and loving way?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Brad Olsen, has been on a life-long, international quest for answers and truth. Brad Olsen is author of ten books, including three in his Esoteric Series: “Modern Esoteric”, “Future Esoteric.” and the newly released “Beyond Esoteric.” An award-winning author, book publisher and event producer, his keynote presentations and interviews have enlightened audiences at Contact in the Desert, UFO Mega Conference, the 5D events and dozens of radio (including Coast to Coast, Ground Zero, and Fade to Black) and television shows (including Ancient Aliens, America Unearthed, Beyond Belief, and Mysteries of the Outdoors). Brad is a founder and co-producer of the How Weird Street Faire in the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco. The Chicago native’s esoteric writing continues to reach a wide audience while he continues breaking ground in alternative journalism, public speaking, illustration, and photography. His websites is http://bradolsen.com/ and he joins me again this week to discuss the latest and most revealing of his Esoteric Series, Beyond Esoteric.

Rabbi Simon Jacobson – Toward a Meaningful Life
Aired Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
In 1970, Motown’s The Temptations had a number one hit song entitled, “Ball of Confusion.” The lyrics, written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong, included the powerful and challenging refrain, “Ball of confusion, that’s what the world is today.” Fifty years later and the song is as apropos and perhaps even more so for 2020. It is obvious that we need deep wisdom, understanding and compassion to navigate all that this unprecedented year has manifested. Is there a source that we may turn to for this guidance and may it be found within ancient wisdom from more than three millennia ago?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Rabbi Simon Jacobson, says these answers and much more may be found in ancient Jewish teachings. Rabbi Simon is considered one of the greatest scholars and most sought-after speakers in the Jewish world, yet his message is for all people. He is the author of the best-selling book Toward a Meaningful Life, a William Morrow publication that has sold more than 400,000 copies and has been translated into eleven languages. He has been interviewed on more than 300 radio and TV shows, including CBS, CNN, PBS, MSNBC, FOX, and NPR. Rabbi Jacobson is Founding Dean of The Meaningful Life Center. His website is https://www.meaningfullife.com/ and he joins me this week to share his experience and the wisdom we need to navigate our rapidly changing and often confusing world.

Dr. Eugene Lipov – Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Aired Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST
PTSD—Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Prior to 2020, this was often associated with veterans returning home from war, police, fire fighters, front line medical personnel and other first responders and those who suffered abuse as children. With the advent of the unprecedented events of 2020, this list has expanded. Treatment with various types of counseling and therapy have helped but there are those who do not respond to traditional treatment and continue to suffer. Is there any answer for them?
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Dr. Eugene Lipov, has pioneered a treatment that has been highly effective in treating chronic PTSD. The treatment, Stellate Ganglion Block, is a five-minute procedure that can help bring the brain back to its “unstuck” state, relieving 80% of patients from trauma symptoms and opening up the opportunity for long-term healing. Dr. Lipov was born in the Soviet-controlled Ukraine and his family emigrated to the United States in 1973. Coming from a family of physicians, he trained in biology and medicine and ultimately specialized in advanced pain management. Dr. Lipov is a board-certified physician in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He has been practicing in the field of pain medicine since 1990. His websites are http://globalptsifoundation.org/ and https://stellacenter.com/. He is the Chief Medical Officer of the Stella Center and joins us this week to share his path and work.
