As a master-level nurse, Joyce worked as a clinical director and nurse consultant for several mental health programs in Manhattan and Atlanta. She launched one of Atlanta’s first holistic wellness centers to help people to effect change in their mind, body, and spirit.

Between prolonged war time, divisive politics and social controversy regarding the National Anthem, it’s hard to understand – much less embrace – the notion of true patriotism. Having been raised by a proud U.S. Marine, Jennifer is passionate about patriotism and equally frustrated by America’s political climate. Join her as she discusses the value and beauty of patriotism with Commander Doug Reinbold, who recently retired from active duty service after 21-years in the U.S. Navy. He’s currently in the Defense Industry in the Washington, DC area.
Bio: CDR Doug “Rhino” Reinbold, USN (ret.)
Commander Doug Reinbold, United States Navy (retired), was born and raised in Seymour, Indiana, and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Technology. Upon selection and graduation from Officer Candidate School he was commissioned as a Naval Officer and was designated a Naval Aviator following completion of flight training. His first fleet service was in San Diego, California, piloting the SH-60B Seahawk helicopter and deploying twice to the Arabian Gulf on missions to conduct maritime interdiction operations. While completing his tour, his peers selected him as the squadron’s Pilot of the Year.
He then received orders to Pensacola, Florida, to serve as a T-34C Instructor Pilot for U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and international flight students. Obtaining all possible qualifications, he was selected as Instructor Pilot of the Year and chosen to be in the first class of instructors to fly the T-6A Texan II. After completion of this tour, he was ordered back to sea duty as a Catapult and Arresting Gear Officer (Shooter) aboard the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) nuclear aircraft carrier, deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
His next fleet assignment was with the first-ever MH-60R Seahawk squadron, operating the Navy’s newest and most advanced combat helicopter. As Department Head, he served during the command’s maiden deployment embarked onboard the USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74) Carrier Strike Group, and he was named his squadron’s Officer of the Year upon completion of his orders.
He was then nominated to attend the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, graduating with a Master’s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. Subsequently he received orders to the Office of Naval Research where he was detailed to the Pentagon to serve as the Deputy for Operations for the Defense Science Board.
His final assignment was as the MQ-8 (Fire Scout) Officer-in-Charge, directing the introduction and fleet integration of the Navy’s first operational unmanned aircraft system. During his career he has accumulated more than 3000 flight hours in 10 different aircraft and is a Commercial-rated Airplane and Helicopter pilot. His military awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, as well as various unit, campaign, and individual ribbons.
He recently retired from active duty after more than 21 years of honorable service. Presently he serves in the defense industry in the Washington, D.C. area where he and his wife are the proud, but exhausted, parents of two awesomely energetic daughters.

Dan is the co-founder and Vice-President of the O’Briant Group, a design thinking consulting firm that works with Fortune 500 companies and educational systems throughout the United States. The O’Briant Group is partnered with Google Cloud, Google for Education, and Grow with Google.
Dan began his career with Quad Graphics, where he handled major contracts. He left to coach business owners in systems and marketing before returning to Florida State University in 2016 to earn a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work. Dan also has a Master of Technology degree in Print Management.

BIOS:
McKenna Weinbaum, a rising sophomore, is Jennifer’s daughter. Active in performing arts and aerial silks, McKenna is also an avid photographer and sketch artist and is particularly fond of capturing the Earth’s beauty.
Georgia Gordon is a rising Sophmore at Atlanta Girls School. She has served as a Circle of Sister (student government) for 3 years at her school. She enjoys crafting, singing, and serving others!

With the escalation of mass shootings, the gun debate ensues. Yet lately we’ve learned of shootings at synagogues, increasing the speculation that Anti-Semitism is on the rise. Join Jennifer as she speaks with Rabbi Rosenthal about his views on Anti-Semitism, its history and implications for us all today and in the future.
Guest Bio:
Rabbi Laurence Rosenthal grew up in Los Angeles. As the youngest of three children and the son of physicians, Laurence learned the importance of education from the example set by his older siblings and parents. He graduated from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles with a degree in Psychology and spent the next few years working as a research coordinator studying the effects of the narcotic, Methamphetamine, on the human brain. After several years, Laurence decided to leave clinical research to serve the Jewish community, eventually earning a Masters of Arts degree in Rabbinic Studies and Rabbinic ordination from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the American Jewish University in May 2008.
Since joining Ahavath Achim Synagogue in Atlanta, Laurence has played a significant role in the rejuvenation and strengthening of the synagogue and greater Atlanta Jewish community. He has been active member of leadership in many organization from the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, The Atlanta Jewish Music Festival and the American Jewish Committee. He currently serves as president of the Atlanta Rabbinical Association, which aims to support and give voice to the Metro Atlanta community of Rabbis. He also is a member of the clergy advisory council for GIPL – Georgia Interfaith Power and Light, a interfaith-based environmental organization and on the advisory councils of the Jewish Home Life Communities and the M’silot program at the Atlanta Jewish Academy. In July of 2019, he will assume the responsibility of senior rabbi of Ahavath Achim synagogue. An avid tennis, yoga and guitar player, Laurence’s greatest accomplishment is to be married to his wife, Brooke, and to be father to four children – Avram Eli (A.E.), Ariela, Ma’ayan and Naftali.

The healthcare debate in America has ensued for years. One Congress passed an Affordable Care Act, while the current Congress threatens to revoke it. Regardless of these political outcomes, millions of patients are still left with chronic illnesses and no access to medications or the proper care. Why is this and what can we do about it? Join Jennifer as she speaks to Dorothy Leone-Glasser, Founder and Executive Director of Advocates for Responsible Care. As both a patient and professional advocate, Dorothy has a long history of being on the front lines of this issue – and has had tremendous success in spite of incredible obstacles.

Dorothy Leone-Glasser, RN, HHC, has lived with systemic lupus for over forty five years. As a result, she has overcome two forms of cancer, disabling arthritis, kidney failure, a coma, heart attack, and two strokes. The compelling energy and perseverance behind her success is Dorothy’s philosophy: “Illness lives in the mind, plays out in the body, and comes to a place of peace in the spirit where wellness survives”. Being a nurse led her to helping others but becoming a devoted patient advocate gave others a voice to empower change. This passion led her to create a nonprofit health and justice organization, The Advocates for Responsible Care (ARxC). At ARxC the focus is advocating for full and affordable access to medications and treatment care with an emphasis on reducing cultural incompetency and health disparities. Today ARxC leads the Rx in Reach GA Coalition consisting of 36 health and physician organizations that lend support to develop patient protections to end the dangerous cost-shifting insurance practices, dangerous barriers to treatments and prohibitive out-of- pocket costs for life-saving prescription drugs and treatments. She has led this coalition to passing Biosimilar legislation and Step Therapy Reform legislation in Georgia. ARxC has joined OUTCRY and Compassionate Atlanta to create the Georgia Coalition for Safe Communities to inform, educate and mobilize Georgians to promote common sense gun policies that prevent violence.
Dorothy has published countless materials on chronic illness care and advocacy that educating patients about wellness and health empowerment. Dorothy is frequently seen and heard on TV, radio, and print media.
