Dr. Alexandra Chauran – Getting Through It: Reclaim & Rebuild Your Life After Adversity, Change and Trauma

Aired Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST

When the books are written about 2020, there will most certainly be chapters entitled, “Trauma”, “Anger”, “Loss” and “Grief”. Certainly, those experiences existed before and will exist after, but the energy of 2020 seemed to exacerbate them. As we move forward, what tools may we use to get beyond the upsets, losses and trauma. Is there a model and exercises we may follow to heal and move on?

My guest this week on Vox Novus, Dr. Alexandra Chauran, experienced the full extent of these in her life five years before 2020 and knows how to work through the worst that life may throw at us. Dr. Alexandra Chauran received a master’s degree in teaching from Seattle University and a doctorate from Valdosta State University. She is the author of fourteen books, including 365 Ways to Develop Your Psychic Ability, 365 Ways to Strengthen Your Spirituality and Clearing Clutter. She’s been interviewed on National Public Radio and other major media outlets. Her website is http://SeePsychic.com and she joins me this week to discuss her path and her new book, Getting Through It: Reclaim & Rebuild Your Life After Adversity, Change and Trauma.

The word “mother” suggests images of comfort, home, safety, caring and, of course, motherly love. Coming after a trying and difficult year, many of us long for that special loving energy. Some of us have lost our mothers while the physical separation mandated by the pandemic has resulted in being distant from some moms. There are many who experience connection with a “divine mother” as a source of inspiration, comfort, and ultimate motherly love. Is there a way of bringing that energy, goddess energy, into our lives as a complement to our existing faiths and belief systems?

My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Reverend Laurie Sue Brockway, had that very experience more than two decades ago with the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi. Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway has written extensively on women’s spirituality, self-esteem, emotional health, relationships, and weddings. The foundation of her ministry is to celebrate all traditions and to include all aspects of the Divine. For more than 20 years, Rev. Laurie Sue has presided over a multicultural wedding ministry based in New York and is widely recognized as an expert on interfaith, intercultural, and highly personalized nondenominational weddings. She honors relationships between all couples and believes in focusing on the common denominator of love.

She is a graduate of the New Seminary for Interfaith Studies. She received her B.A. in Human Development from S.U.N.Y and studied Marriage and Family Therapy at Mercy College. She is the author of more than thirty books including Your Interfaith Wedding and her ground-breaking best seller, The Goddess Pages. Her website is https://www.revlauriesue.com/ and she joins me this week to discuss her path and her book, Lakshmi Magic.

Margaret Dulaney – The Parables of Sunlight

Aired Thursday, December 17, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST

My wife, Laurie Sue, and I have been discussing the possibility of leaving New York City since the first wave of COVID-19 and the ensuing issues of 2020. There has been a significant departure from many cities throughout the country by those seeking a quieter, more nature connected lifestyle. We often muse if this is even an eventuality for us as we grow into our golden years or just a dream.

My guest this week on Vox Novus, Margaret Dulaney, lived this dream. After 18 years of living in Manhattan, she and her husband traded in their hectic city life for the peace of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Taking on one hundred acres of neglected farmland, they discovered a rich community of souls, both human and animal. Margaret Dulaney wrote for the theater in New York City for years before she moved to rural Pennsylvania to pursue nonfiction. After many years, and a closet full of writings, she founded “Listen Well”, her spoken word website offering once-monthly recorded essays championing hope, and the ultimate, inescapable awakening of the individual soul. Margaret’s essays, apart from those on Listen Well, can be found in various journals and Magazines including, Parabola, Spirituality and Health, Cezanne’s Carrot, Read the Spirit, Day 1, Big Muddy and Contemplative Journal. Her website is https://www.listenwell.org/ and she joins me this week to discuss her path and her new book, The Parables of Sunlight.

Every religion and faith share their respective vision of the afterlife. These include variations of heaven and paradise as well as hell and perdition. There are some who believe there is nothing and others who say that we reincarnate, each time to learn a new lesson and grow. There are also those who have had NDE’s, near death experiences, and have returned to share new, wonderful; and transcendent concepts, often contrary to what their respective faiths have taught them.

My guest this week on Vox Novus, Nanci Danison, had this very experience. A highly successful and dedicated lawyer and trial attorney, Nanci had a near death experience in 1994 at the age of 43 that gave her a new perspective on life and afterlife. Using her skills as a jurist, she evaluated evidence to questions such as: What is God? Who am I? What is the purpose of this life? What happens when we die? Nanci has been featured on Biography Channel’s “I Survived…Beyond and Back” as well as several television and radio programs including Coast to Coast AM with George Noory. She is the author of numerous articles and books including BACKWARDS: Returning to Our Source for Answers, Answers from the Afterlife and BACKWARDS Beliefs: Revealing Eternal Truths Hidden in Religions. Her website is BackwardsBooks.com and she joins me this week to share her path and story.

Dr. Kac Young – Crystal Power: 12 Essential Crystals for Healing and Health

Aired Thursday, December 3, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST

In 1959 at the age of six, I was given a special birthday gift by a family member. The gift was a crystal radio kit, something that I had been asking for. A crystal radio employed a galena crystal, a natural mineral form of lead sulfide, that had semi-conductor properties. When touched with a special thin wire called a cat’s whisker, the crystal rectified radio band signals and generated enough current to operate a small earpiece for listening. I was thrilled to pick up stations from as far away from New York as Chicago and Canada and this solidified my thirst for knowledge of electronics and crystal properties at a very young age. In the late 1980’s, I began to appreciate the healing and metaphysical properties of crystals. How may crystals help us heal? Are there special crystals for each of us and how may we use them in our spiritual practices?

My guest this week on Vox Novus, Dr. Kac Young, is an expert on crystals as well as other forms of natural healing, hypnotherapy, and nutrition. Kac Young has been a producer, writer, and director in the Hollywood television industry for more than 25 years. Kac has also earned a PhD in Natural Health and a Doctorate in Naturopathy. She completed 36 courses in nutrition from Baylor University. Clients come to her for advice on health, nutrition, and spiritual well-being. Using her third Doctorate Degree in Clinical Hypnotherapy, she helps people manage weight control, smoking cessation, behavior modification, stress reduction, past-life regression, and phobia management. She is the author of 16 books including The Healing Art of Essential Oils, Cheese Dome Power, The Path to Fabulous, The Quick Guide to Bach Flower Remedies and Supreme Healing. She is also a licensed Religious Science Minister, a Certified Archetypal Therapist and Counselor; a Certified Meditation Teacher; a Career Coach for aspiring actors and directors; a Medical Qigong Teacher and a former pilot of private airplanes. She is active on behalf of animal rights and fostering and preserving women’s rights, globally. Debbie Solaris – Connecting You to the Stars

Aired Thursday, November 26, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST

Friends and regular listeners to my podcasts are aware of the experiences I had as a child in the 1950’s and ‘60’s. With my earliest “conscious” memory at age 5, I attended what I later called “night school”, visits with extraterrestrial beings who imparted knowledge that I had no other source for. I regarded these experiences as friendly, even familial in nature, rather than what others have called “abduction.” While volunteering for the recent New Life Virtual Expo, I met a woman who had remarkably similar experiences, only a little later in life!

My guest this week on Vox Novus, Debbie Solaris, is an ET contactee, interdimensional traveler, and galactic historian. After a fateful extraterrestrial contact experience a few years ago, Debbie awakened to her true star lineage and higher calling. Through her ancestral connection with the Akashic Records, she has been receiving downloads of galactic historical information and universal spiritual knowledge ever since. She feels that it’s a big part of her mission while here on Earth to help awaken others to their own true Divine selves and cosmic origins. Debbie was recently featured on the Beyond Belief Show with George Noory on Gaia TV, which showcased her extraterrestrial contact experiences and how that led her to her higher mission of helping all of us to remember and reconnect with our cosmic star heritage. Debbie’s new YouTube channel features actual client Akashic and intuitive readings recordings converted to video, with the videos featuring information on Galactic History and extraterrestrial star races, along with real-life advice and direction for starseeds and lightworkers trying to navigate their way within this incarnation experience we call planet Earth. Her website is https://www.debbiesolaris.com/ and she joins me this week to share her story and message.

Dr. Dravon James – Freedom is Your Birthright

Aired Thursday, November 19, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST

In any normal year, the approaching holiday season would be met by most with anticipation, excitement, gift shopping, the planning of family gatherings and holiday parties. Even during “normal” years, there is often stress that accompanies the joy. With the unprecedented series of events that 2020 has delivered, one might question not only how we might greet the holidays but whether there is a reason to celebrate at all. In this era of COVID-19, mixed messages and outright mistruths from leadership, egregious acts of racial violence and bigotry and the most divided this nation has been since the 1800’s, is there a way to remember who we are as a people, embrace one another with compassion and love and find joy in the holiday season.

My guest this week on Vox Novus, Dr. Dravon James, offers us tools, insights and the wisdom we need to make the most of not only this holiday season, but in the months and years to come. Dr. Dravon James is the founder of Everyday Peace, the host of Everyday Peace on Unity Radio, a Life Coach, and the author of Freedom is Your Birthright. As an inspirational speaker, Dravon’s goal is to educate, empower, and inspire others to build the life of their dreams no matter what shows up in their lives- good, bad, or otherwise. Dravon is the happy mother of two teenagers, a successful pharmacist, inspirational speaker, author, and actress whose career credits include a recurring role on HBO’s acclaimed “The Wire”, many stage plays, and independent films. She continues to inspire and teach what she knows to be the most effective tool for transforming, creating, and building a spectacular life—tapping into “Everyday Peace.” Her client list includes the University of the District of Columbia, New Hope World Ministries, Today’s Care Adult Daycare, Stadium Place, and Next Chapter online radio. Her website is https://drdravonjames.com/ and she joins us this week to share her wisdom, her path and tell us about her book, Freedom is Your Birthright.

Theresa Cheung – The Sensitivity Code

Aired Thursday, November 12, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST

On March 23rd, 1965, something amazing happened at the Bell Sound Studios here in New York City. The lovely voice of singer Jackie DeShannon filled the studio with Hal David’s lyrics to the song he and Burt Bacharach composed, “What the World Needs Now Is Love.” We could easily adapt this same theme to our world today and perhaps paraphrase it with, “What the World Needs Now is Compassion.” Perhaps this is something that many of us recognize not only intellectually, but viscerally connect with in our body and spirit. If you are feeling this, you are a sensitive soul and many of us, in extending our sensitivity and compassion, often feel rejected and out of place in a world that so desperately needs the gifts of spirit we bring.

My guest this week on Vox Novus, Theresa Cheung, says that there are more of us out there than we may realize and lovingly offers tools and advice for sensitive souls to thrive and fulfill our purpose. Theresa Cheung has been researching and writing about spirituality, dreams and the paranormal for the past twenty-five years. She has a Masters degree from Kings College Cambridge University in Theology and English and several international bestselling books, including two Sunday Times top 10 bestsellers to her credit. Her Dream Dictionary A to Z regularly bounces to number 1 in its Amazon category and is regarded as a classic in its field. Her spiritual books have been translated into more than 40 languages and she has written numerous features for national newspapers and magazines. Theresa’s media appearances include an interview with Today Extra, Piers Morgan on GMTV, guesting on episode 71 of Russell Brand’s Under the Skin podcast and decoding dreams live on Coast to Coast AM. She has also given numerous sold out talks at venues such as Olympia, Alexandra Palace and The College of Psychic Studies. She works closely with scientists studying consciousness and has her own popular spiritual podcast: White Shores, as well as a busy author page on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Her website is https://www.theresacheung.com/ and she joins me this week to discuss her latest book, The Sensitivity Code: Life Strategies for Thriving in an Overwhelming World.

Sandy Cowen – Hi Momma, It’s Me.

Aired Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST

In my two-plus decades as an Interfaith Minister, I’ve officiated both joyous and sad services for family and friends. Offering comfort at funerals is always a challenge because grief is a highly individual process and the greatest comfort comes from sacred presence, empathic listening and offering a few compassionate words, when appropriate. From personal family experience prior to ministry, I learned that when someone loses a child, there simply are no words to comfort the bereaved. The best we can do is to create sacred loving presence in whatever form they request. But is their another form of comfort and reassurance that may be offered from the other side?

My guest this week on Vox Novus, Sandy Cowen, learned through the loss of her adult son, Jon, that transition is not an end but a new beginning. Sandy Cowen has always been dedicated to the empowerment of others as an entrepreneur, community leader and expert on the holistic healing process. Now, an author and speaker, she shares a gift she’s kept hidden for decades. Prompted by her son’s passing, Sandy is coming forward with her story to help others find peace and even joy in the face of profound loss. Her website is https://www.sandycowen.com/ and she joins me this week to share her story and her new book, “Hi Momma, It’s Me.” — How Souls Stay Connected Forever and the Power of Undying Love.

Ananda More – Magic Pills

Aired Thursday, October 29, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST

In my fifties, I would often experience being awakened from a deep and sound sleep by excruciating pain in my calves. My wife suggested I try these tiny white pills, two or three placed under the tongue, that she found to be effective in relieving and preventing these cramps. I tried them and they worked! On the label was printed the word, “homeopathic.” This was my introduction to homeopathy and later she introduced me to other remedies including Arnica Montana for bruises and other muscle spasms. Each of these treatments, for me, proved to be safe and effective. They were also inexpensive, did not require a prescription and were readily available at our local health food store. If these remedies were this good, why were they not prescribed and recommended by physicians? Furthermore, why did media try to dismiss the benefits of homeopathy and accept the word of skeptics without looking at the scientific data?

My guest this week on Vox Novus, Ananda More, asked these same questions. Ananda began as a skeptic of homeopathy until a profoundly transformational experience while backpacking through India and experiencing homeopathy for herself. She always knew that she wanted to dedicate her life to helping others, and instead of going to law school she decided to pursue homeopathy as a career. Ananda graduated from the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine in 2005, went on to study around the world with some of the most highly recognized homeopaths, and became co-owner of Riverdale Homeopathy, a clinic, bookstore, dispensary and general hub for everything homeopathic in North America. She has served on the council for the homeopathic regulatory body of Ontario as well as the board of the Ontario Homeopathic Association. Her path also took her on another journey, a quest to find out why so many questioned the efficacy of homeopathy. Using her wonderful story telling and theatrical background, she produced and directed a breathtaking and moving film of this journey. This film is called, “Magic Pills: Homeopathy-Promise or Placebo.
