Norlyn Dimmitt – Activating the 76%
Can the “Beloved Community” Help us Rediscover Our Collective Core Values?
Aired Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
An Interview with Visionary Activist Norlyn Dimmitt
“Of course Jesus believed in evolution, otherwise he would have said, ‘Now don’t do a thing until I return.’” — Swami Beyondananda
I’ve said it before, and it looks like this is going to become a broken record for my Wiki Politiki broadcasts for this coming year – we have a deeply UNITED body politic in that more than three quarters of us want to cooperate and collaborate, rather than fight one another.
When this week’s guest, visionary activist Norlyn Dimmitt asserted that 76% of Americans want to come together to solve problems, it reminded me of something that happened nearly 25 years ago. I was listening to a talk by spiritual psychologist Patricia Sun, and she recounted a presentation she gave at a new age bookstore. Outside the bookstore were four fundamentalist Christians picketing the bookstore. Patricia suggested going out to talk with the picketers, but the bookstore owner said, “Forget it. You can’t talk with those people.”
Nonetheless, Patricia went out to converse with the group, and after ten minutes three of the picketers put down their signs, hugged her and said, “You’re saying exactly what Jesus said.”
The fourth picketer was unmoved and continued to carry his sign.
This anecdote led me to postulate what I call “The Law of 75.” 75% of people – three quarters of us – are susceptible to loving, respectful conversation. Norlyn does me one percent better. His figures say 76%.
Furthermore, Norlyn is working with an organization, Compassionate Citizens that is weaving together hundreds of faith-based organizations to help bring about what he calls caring culture, caring economy, and wise democracy. One of the partners, the Listen First Coalition, is billed as “350+ organizations working together to mend our frayed social fabric by building relationships and bridging divides,” empowering what is called the National Conversation Project.
Norlyn’s own spiritual history involves being raised in the radically fundamentalist Worldwide Church of God, and evolving to one of those rare Unitarians who actually believes in God! His is a mathematician by training, an actuary by trade, and his experience in the real estate industry has led to his design of a unique way to fund Compassionate Conversations.
Again, broken record department.
For months you’ve heard me talk about creating, populating and empowering a sane and sacred center to fill the vacuum in our society currently being occupied by the unchecked, unbalanced, unmitigated power of money. Can faith-based communities help us bridge the divide and cultivate a unifying yet inclusive meta-narrative that will apply the Golden Rule to overgrow the rule of gold?
To get Norlyn’s encouraging perspective, please join us this Tuesday, December 29th at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET.

Marianne Williamson – Christmas In the Trenches, Revisited
Can America’s Warring Parties Emerge From Entrenched Positions and Find Our Sane and Sacred Center?
Aired Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
An Interview with Author and 2020 Presidential Candidate Marianne Williamson
“It’s time for conservatives to come out of their Fox-holes, and progressives out of their NPR-holes – time to play truce or consequences.” — Swami Beyondananda
It used to be that the “work of heart” I most associated with Christmas was the Frank Capra movie, “It’s A Wonderful Life.” But ever since my friend Shanti Norman recorded John McCutcheon’s song, “Christmas in the Trenches” in 2000, I have held that extraordinary piece of work as best symbolizing the light that can shine in times of greatest darkness.
After World War I started in 1914, the Pope suggested a truce around Christmas time. The generals pursuing the war didn’t like this idea one bit, and in fact one of their concerns was that the enemy trenches were so close, that soldiers could hear the enemy speaking to their comrades, and even smell the food they were cooking.
What came to be known as the “Christmas truce” happened at a number of places along the front lines. As the song suggests, peace might have “broken out” due to soldiers hearing their enemies singing Christmas carols in their native tongue, and then joining in singing in two languages. As soon as the “enemy” was “re-humanized” after the dehumanization necessary to get ordinary humans to kill other ordinary humans, the trance was broken. In some cases, the trances lasted a day, in others three days. Despite this brief respite of sanity, the war continued nearly three more years, killing 18 million soldiers and civilians and wounding another 23 million.
Now more than a century later, America seems to be locked into another version of trench warfare. Thanks to social media and mainstream media fanning the flames of polarization, there are those talking about armed warfare on our own soil as we face the fundamental issue that has kept humans on the battlefield for millennia – the illusion of separation vs. the truth of oneness.
We seem to be “entrenched” in intractable positions, but the truth is more than three quarters of us would prefer to collaborate and cooperate. The challenge is to coalesce around the virtues and values 90% of us hold in common, and activate what we are calling our “sane and sacred center.” To help us collectively address and break this trance of separation, I am pleased to have as my special Christmas week guest, Marianne Williamson.
Williamson is a bestselling author, political activist, and spiritual thought leader. She is the author of 14 books, four of which have been #1 New York Times best sellers. Here is a well-known quote from the mega best seller A Return to Love, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…”
Williamson founded Project Angel Food in 1989, a non-profit to help those suffering from the ravages of HIV/AIDS, and since that time has delivered more than 12 million meals to ill and dying homebound patients. She has advocated for reparations for slavery since the 1990’s and was the first candidate in the 2020 presidential primary season to make it a pillar of her campaign. In 2004, she co-founded The Peace Alliance and supports the creation of a U.S. Department of Peace. In addition, she advocates for a cabinet level Department of Children and Youth to adequately address the chronic trauma of millions of American children.
One of the most heartening aspects of Marianne’s 2020 Presidential campaign is that her message landed with some religious conservatives because it resonated with their religious notions of beloved community and care for creation. Can we move past polarizing cultural issues to find common ground? Can we move past the identity issues that have been used to separate us to addressing together the IDENTICAL ISSUES we all face – clean air, clean water, clean food, clean soil and clean government? Can we activate this new “moral majority” to use the Golden Rule to overrule the rule of gold?
Please join us for a heartening conversation this Tuesday, December 22th 2-3 pm PT / 5-6 pm ET.
The interview can also be heard as of this Thursday on Wiki Politiki https://wikipolitiki.com/

Michael Lerner – Revolutionary Love
A “Humanifesto” for A Caring Society
Aired Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
An Interview with Spiritual Political Activist Rabbi Michael Lerner
“When a global Marshall Plan replaces the current ‘martial plan’ humankind will finally live up to its name.” — Swami Beyondananda
There is a concept in Jewish theology called Tikkun Olam, roughly translated as the healing of the world. According to 16th century Rabbi Isaac Luria, in order to set the world right humans must be involved in this repair of the world. In our own times, this call for restoring wholeness has been taken up by this week’s Wiki Politiki guest, Rabbi Michael Lerner, founder of Tikkun magazine and of Beyt Tikkun synagogue in Berkeley, California.
Rabbi Lerner is the author of several groundbreaking books, including The Politics of Meaning: Restoring Hope and Possibility in an Age of Cynicism, which caught the attention of Bill and Hillary Clinton, who invited him to stay at the White House. Ten years later, he wrote The Left Hand of God: Taking Back Our Country from the Religious Right, a book that pointed out that by focusing primarily on economic issues, progressives left the dealing with the spiritual malaise so many Americans were feeling to the religious right.
In 2005 Lerner became chair of The Network of Spiritual Progressives whose mission was to “challenge the materialism and selfishness in American society and to promote an ethos of love, generosity, and awe and wonder at the grandeur of the universe.”
His latest book is Revolutionary Love: A Political Manifesto Heal and Transform the World, where he lays out his vision of a caring society that evolves past the narcissistic memes of capitalist dogmas and self-deceptive, self-help teachings. Rabbi Lerner’s unique perspective comes not only from his spiritual and political foundations, but also from his background as a psychotherapist.
If you are wondering how we DO make the shift from predominantly domination to collaboration and cooperation, please join me this Tuesday, December 15th 2-3 pm PT / 5-6 pm ET.

Susan Sparks – Can Laughter REALLY Bring Us Together?
This Trial Lawyer Turned Baptist Minister and Stand-Up Comic Thinks So
Aired Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
An Interview With “Stand-Up Minister” and Author Susan Sparks
“If we want peace in the Mideast, first we need to have peace in the Midwest.” — Swami Beyondananda
We’ve all heard the saying that laughter is healing, and you probably have heard the story about the writer Norman Cousins. Back in the 1970s, he was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness that was so serious I can’t even pronounce it. Instead of checking into a hospital, he checked into a hotel room with Marx Brothers movies and Candid Camera re-runs – and he got well. His book, Anatomy of An Illness, caused quite a stir, and medical science began studying the healing power of humor – which is kind of like, well it works in practice, but does it work in theory?
Yes, laughter CAN heal … as we recognize that the true meaning of the word “healing” is to “restore wholeness.” In that way, the magic of levity can help us rise above the gravity in life and see from a higher perspective.
So … in these most contentious of times can laughing together keep us from crying separately? Our guest this week, Rev. Susan Sparks is a trial attorney turned stand-up comic and Baptist preacher. She has toured as part of an Abrahamic comedy troupe consisting of her, a rabbi, and a Muslim. She thinks laughter is a universal language of the heart that can help heal the illusion of separation.
I first met Susan in the early 2000s at an Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor in San Diego, where we were both presenters. She was just making the shift from her career as an attorney to begin theological studies, and apply her skills as a stand-up comic. Since that time, she has written three books, Miracle on 31st Street, Preaching Punchlines, and Laugh Your Way to Grace, and has made numerous appearances on TV, radio and at pulpits across the country. She is currently the senior pastor at the Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Manhattan. Oh, and she is also a Harley-Davidson aficionado with a love for cowboy boots (I suppose that also makes her a Harley Krishna and a Bootist).
Seriously and humorously, when it comes to bring folks together around laughter, Susan has been there and done that. Can laughter help all sides see things from a different angle? To find out, please join me this Tuesday, December 8th 2-3 pm PT / 5-6 pm ET.

New Collaborative Media Platform Is Where the REAL Reset Is Happening
Aired Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
An Interview With Grammy-Award Winning Producer and Mobilized.news Founder Steven Jay
“If we don’t like the old news that is dividing us, time to make some new news together.” — Swami Beyondananda
This coming year, 2021, will mark the 40th anniversary of Walter Cronkite’s final broadcast. It’s been that long since America’s most trusted newscaster said, “And that’s the way it is,” while all of America nodded yes.
At a time when we seem to be living in two separate realities, despite the polarization, more than two thirds of us long for a trustworthy, independent, credible authority to help us address those three key questions – what’s so, so what and now what?
Meanwhile, the COVID crisis is being used to accelerate the “global reset” agenda of the World Economic Forum and those who want to impose a top down global authority to rule the world. Well, as the Swami says, “If we don’t want dystopia, we need to offer an alternative – dat-topia.” Our guest this week, Steven Jay, is dedicating his life work to creating a new media platform where creative ideas can come out to play, and where we can together reset the HUMAN HEART as we shift from domination to collaboration, and where we can step out of the matrix and into the creatrix.
Steven describes Mobilized as a “new kind of media for a newer, kinder world inspired by nature, powered by people, and empowered by imagination.” He writes, “Mobilized is a hands-on learning network for imagination and human potential. To inspire, empower and embrace the genius within us to create a world that works for all people, our planet and for our common purpose.”
In addition to being Founder and Creative Director of Mobilized, Steven Jay is a Grammy Award-winning producer, musician, composer, and creative director. He began his career as a journalist/photographer in 1977 promoting emerging talents such as Meat Loaf and Bon Jovi. His projects have been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MTV, and VH1. He founded the Global Entertainment and Media Summit and the New York Music and Internet Expo: The beginning of a digital music revolution.
He also was a Co-Executive Producer of the “When Comedy Went to School” documentary that captured the spirit and excitement of the Catskill Comics as they inspired generations and leagues of comedians. It featured Jerry Lewis, Larry King, Sid Caesar, Jackie Mason, and many others.
Steven was Associate Producer and Project Creator of Les Paul and Friends: American Made, World Played (2005), the Grammy Award-Winning recording to honor the innovator whose contributions to the entertainment worlds include the solid body electric guitar and multi-track recording. This recording featured a host of celebrated performing artists including Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, Steve Miller, Sting, Buddy Guy, and Peter Frampton.
After a life-changing event several years ago, Steven dedicated his life and work to bringing about a world that works for all. I am so enthralled and enthused, I have transferred my own Great Upwising platform over to Mobilized. To find out why, please join me this Tuesday, December 1st, 2-3 pm PT / 5-6 pm ET.

How We Can Close the “Reality Gap” and Create a Sane and Sacred Center
Aired Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
An Interview With Author and Mediation Expert Mark Gerzon
“Instead of the current tug-of-war pulling us apart, we need a tug-of-peace where we all pull together in the same direction.” — Swami Beyondananda
At the most politically contentious time since the Civil War, can you imagine what it would take to “reunite America”? You can’t? Well our guest this week, Mark Gerzon, can. He has written a book called the “Reunited States of America,” and his life work for the past half-century has been bringing all sides together in fruitful conversation.
Mark Gerzon is the president of Mediators Foundation and is one of the key architects of the field of global leadership and an experienced facilitator in high-conflict zones. He has advised a wide variety of organizations including the US Congress, multinational corporations, and UNDP. The author of numerous books, including Leading Through Conflict and Global Citizens, his most recent book is The Reunited States of America: How We Can Bridge the Partisan Divide.
Concerned about the increasing polarization in American communities, Mark has spent the last two decades working on the ideological frontier between Left and Right. He co-designed and served as head facilitator for the US Bipartisan Congressional Retreats in the late 1990s, and has spent the following years participating in a wide variety of efforts to deepen dialogue across the political spectrum. He is currently developing with his colleagues a multi-pronged strategy to build a transpartisan movement in the United States.
Studies have shown that more than two thirds of Americans would prefer solving problems together to sowing more divisiveness and discord. Our current electoral system is dependent on two forces – first, the vested interests that donate the huge sums of money to finance the campaigns; second, the “true-believer” voters who provide the energy on the ground as the voting blocs who put the candidates over the top. Thanks to new applications of technology to identify “solution voters”, we now have an opportunity to access and activate this new “silent majority”.
So, can the majority of us work together to move forward the political agenda that the vast majority of us want – election integrity, end to gerrymandering, money out of politics, working together to solve problems instead of engaging in the lose-lose state of war that has marred politics for the past two generations? To find out, please join me this Tuesday, November 17th 2-3 pm PT / 5-6 pm ET.

Foster Gamble – From Survival to Thrival
Off the Old Battlefield, On to a New Playing Field
Aired Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
An Interview With “Thrive” Film-Maker Foster Gamble
“The true law of life is not survival of the fittest, but thrival of the fittingest.” — Swami Beyondananda
As we in the US find ourselves in the midst of a toxic, contentious election season that threatens to continue indefinitely, two apparently contradictory ideas seem to be true. First, we are deeply divided, not just into two parties, not just into two narratives, but into two separate and seemingly incompatible realities.
Second, the vast majority of the American people overwhelmingly agree – they want to work together to find solutions, and not just blame the other side. As Einstein famously said a problem cannot be solved at the same level it was created. The two political parties are locked in battle in a dualistic playing field, in the death throes of Newtonian politics, where equal and opposite forces fight to the death, with we the people and the natural world as collateral damage.
Einstein said something else as well — the field is the sole governing agency over the particle. In other words, if we want to transform what we call politics – not to mention every other aspect of civilization – we have to get off the old battlefield and on to a new playing field.
Our conversation today is about how we can play on the unified field that is above and beyond all the particles we are trying to move around. For example, what if instead of the force and friction-based energy systems we have today we have free energy systems that tap the infinite energies of the non-physical world? What if the drug-and-surgery, symptom-management, illness-care system, gave way to energy medicine that change the vibrational field so that a disease condition could not take hold?
This week’s guest, Foster Gamble, producer of a new film Thrive II: This Is What It Takes, that offers heartening examples of how these technologies – dismissed as science fiction – are proving to be scientific fact. In the first Thrive movie, Foster and his wife Kimberly Carter Gamble, journeyed deep down the rabbit hole to explore dark and controversial ideas. In this one, Foster jokes, “We have found the light at the end of the rabbit hole.”
Foster Gamble is the President & Co-Founder of Clear Compass Media; Creator, Host, Co-Writer, and Director of Visual Design for THRIVE. At age 14, Foster Gamble had a vision where he glimpsed what he perceived to be the Universe’s fundamental energy pattern. He spent the next 35 years trying to figure out the details and implications of what he had seen. That quest took two paths: a scientific journey and an exploration of the human potential to navigate successfully through the challenges threatening our survival. THRIVE represents the convergence of these two paths.
If you’re looking for the good news on the other side of all this “bad news” we seem so caught up in, please join me this Tuesday, November 10th 2-3 pm PT / 5-6 pm ET.

Time to “Clear the Air”
Aired Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
An Interview With Author and Microwave Radiation Specialist Arthur Firstenberg
“The truth shall upset you free.”
— Swami Beyondananda
5G stands for “fifth generation cellular technology” which promises to deliver data rates that are 10 to 100 times faster than current 4G. Not only does this mean much faster download rates, but 5G will also enable new technologies like self-driving cars and augmented reality. Mobile devices will be able to send and receive information in less than one-thousandth of a second, appearing instantaneous to the user.
Wow. Faster internet, faster downloads on our smart phones … Fast, fast, fast. Well… not so fast, say some concerned citizens and scientists. As with cell phones, the radiation from this 5G technology is being linked to higher cancer rates. The cell phone providers and mainstream media insist all is safe, and there is no problem. Are they correct? Or is this just another issue where those with much to gain are railroading an untested technology?
Our guest this week, Arthur Firstenberg, is here to help clear the air. Arthur Firstenberg is a scientist and journalist who has been at the forefront of a global movement to have a transparent conversation around the apparent trance of 5G technology. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Cornell University with a degree in mathematics, he attended the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine from 1978 to 1982. Injury by X-ray overdose cut short his medical career. For the past thirty-eight years he has been a researcher, consultant, and lecturer on the health and environmental effects of electromagnetic radiation, as well as a practitioner of several healing arts.
He is the founder of the independent campaign group the Cellular Phone Task Force, and has authored two books, Microwaving Our Planet: The Environmental Impact of the Wireless Revolution and The Invisible Rainbow: A History of Electricity and Life.
If you are ready to hear some of what you haven’t been told about 5G technology, and are looking to make up your own mind, please join me this Tuesday, November 3rd 2-3 pm PT / 5-6 pm ET.

Black Lives Matter, White Power Structure Matters More
Aired Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
An Interview With Pioneering Black Journalist Glen Ford
“First we had Black Lives Matter, then Blue Lives Matter – and it seems to be working. The whole country is now black and blue.” — Swami Beyondananda
This summer, the murder of George Floyd by police sparked a huge, nationwide protest movement and put Black Lives Matter into the headlines. Within days, hours actually, mass protests emerged across the country, and celebrities – from the entertainment industry to sports figures – all seemed to speak as one to support this movement.
And…
What impact has the movement had and will it have in the future to insure that actual black lives are impacted for the better? How do we replace a criminally unjust criminal justice system with one that works for all? What is this “defund the police” issue all about, and what actually happened in Portland and Seattle?
Our guest this week, pioneering black journalist Glen Ford, will take us deeper as we examine to what extent #BLM is grassroots, and to what extent it is “Astroturf”, and we look at who benefits from this movement, and what this movement and media campaign may be keeping us from seeing. Hint: He uses the phrase “bamboozlement”, popularized by Malcolm X, to describe how the power structure has used the #BLM movement to keep folks from poking around the real issues.
The son of famed disc jockey Rudy “The Deuce” Rutherford, who was the first Black man to host a non-gospel television show in the Deep South – Columbus, Georgia, 1958 – Glen was reading newswire copy on-the-air at age eleven. Glen’s first full-time broadcast news job was at James Brown’s Augusta, Georgia radio station WRDW, in 1970 – where ‘The Godfather of Soul” shortened Glen’s surname to “Ford.”
He later worked as a newsperson at four more local stations: in Columbus, Georgia, Atlanta, Baltimore – where he created his first radio syndication, a half-hour weekly news magazine called “Black World Report”. In 1974, Ford joined the Mutual Black Network (88 stations), where he served as Capitol Hill, State Department and White House correspondent, and Washington Bureau Chief, while also producing a daily radio commentary. In 1977, he co-launched, produced and hosted “America’s Black Forum” (ABF), the first nationally syndicated Black news interview program on commercial television.
ABF made Black broadcast history. For the next four years, the program generated national and international headlines nearly every week. Never before – and never since – had a Black news entity commanded the weekly attention of the news services (AP, UPI, Reuters, Agence France-Presse – even Tass, the Soviet news agency), as well as the broadcast networks.
While still host and co-owner of ABF, Ford in 1979 created “Black Agenda Reports,” which provided five programs each day on Black Women, History, Business, Sports and Entertainment to 66 radio stations. The syndication produced more short-form programming than the two existing Black radio networks, combined. Ford also produced the McDonald’s-sponsored radio series “Black History Through Music,” aired on 50 stations, nationwide.
In 1987, Ford launched “Rap It Up,” the first nationally syndicated Hip Hop music show, broadcast on 65 radio stations. During its six years of operations, “Rap It Up” allowed Ford to play an important role in the maturation of a new African American musical genre. He organized three national rap music conventions, and wrote the Hip Hop column for Jack The Rapper’s Black radio trade magazine.
Ford co-founded BlackCommentator.com (BC) in 2002. The weekly journal quickly became the most influential Black political site on the Net. In October, 2006, Ford and the entire writing team left BC to launch BlackAgendaReport.com (BAR).

Eleanor LeCain – What If Trump Refuses to Leave?
How to Make Goliath “Go Lieth Down”
Aired Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST
Interview with Visionary and Political Strategist Eleanor LeCain
“If it quacks like a duck and steps like a goose, there is something fowl afoot.” — Swami Beyondananda
In 2005, journalist and NYU professor Mark Crispin Miller published a book, Fooled Again, presenting evidence that Republicans stole the elections in 2000 and 2004 using hacked voting machines and other nefarious means. While the mainstream press largely ignored the book, the so-called progressive press – including Democracy Now and Mother Jones — roundly condemned the book and dismissed Miller as a conspiracy theorist.
Here we are a decade-and-a-half later and the most mainstream of mainstream Democrats are discussing the prospect of Trump stealing the election, and not abiding by the results he be defeated. Makes you wonder … had we handled the bullying party then, maybe we wouldn’t be dealing with this “bullyshit” now.
Fortunately, Donald Trump is so blatantly toxic that everyone has been forewarned, and consequently forearmed. Our guest this week, Eleanor LeCain recently put out a video to help the sane and reverent majority reassert our will should the misleader try any monkey business.

In 2012, she helped Elizabeth Warren win a seat in the US Senate, and she also served as Assistant Secretary of State for Massachusetts.
Her book, Breakthrough Solutions: How to Improve Your Life and Change the World by Building on What Works, has an Introduction by the Dalai Lama. The book profiles key innovations in areas such as education, crime, green jobs, and ending poverty. Her articles are published widely from the New York Times to the Boston Business Journal to Le Monde in Paris, France. She hosts her own show, All Together Now, on PRN radio.
So … can we make Goliath go lieth down? What can we do NOW before the election, and what can we do afterward?
Please join me this Tuesday, October 20th, 2-3 pm PT / 5-6 pm ET to find out.
